How-to: find a lipstick in your 20s

The best rule for finding the perfect lipstick when you’re in your 20s? “There are no rules,” says Make-Up Artist, Nicola Burford.
Burford tells us loud and clear “When you’re in your twenties most lipstick colours and textures will suit you! Whether your style is more trend-inspired or classic, embrace, experiment and enjoy the wonderful wide world of lipsticks and glosses!”
If you’re still not sure, try a few lipstick swatches on the back of your hand to see if you like the way they look on skin. Sometimes lip colours look a lot more (or less) pigmented on skin, so lipstick swatches are great if you want to discover the true intensity of a lipstick or gloss.
Try: Dior Addict Lipstick – available in 44 luscious shades, you’re bound to find something just right for you.

"There are no rules?" YIKES! I guess it comes down to confidence then.. something I don't have when it comes to strong lip colours (but I will play with colours on my eyes)

I was never brave enough to experiment too boldly with colours.

I find plum and dark colours too strong for my skin tone. Nude and pale colours make me look washed out. I do love a pink / purple colour and a deep red. Have yet to muster a coral colour

I tend to disagree on this, as some colours don't suit certain people regarless of age, as it just doesn't suit there skin tone.

This "rule" should be applicable to all women, not just those in their 20's.

I never use to be into lipstick, but lately I am obsessed. I'm going more for nudes but not beige's - more like natural lip colours that accentuate the lips but are not too obvious. I feel fancy when I wear lipstick. Also, I have too many eyeshadows and blushes, so lips products have become my new obsession. I don't mind having to re-apply either. I use up more of the product that way and then I feel like I'm getting my money's worth. Let's be honest, who always uses up every last drop of a lip product? My new aim is to do exactly this! I'm loving Revlon and the Clinique Almost Lipsticks at the moment.

I'm a total make-up newbie and have a few cheapie lipsticks which I love applying on at home. However I'm way to freaked out to ever actually wear them outside as they stand out so much! Hehe I'll work up the courage one day!

I love the more natural pink lipsticks - but maybe I need to change things up a bit.
