I hate to admit it, but being privy to the latest products claiming to be “the new Botox” or “the treatment your hair’s been screaming out for” can send a cosmetics junkie like me to jaded-land. Sad but true.
Saying that though, nothing makes me happier than a product that does what it says on the tin. Actually that’s a lie, something that does what it says and rings up at under $30 – fully-fledged bargain territory – makes me happy beyond belief. We’re talking skip-round-the-office, tell all my friends happy. Which brings me to the point of today’s talk: the latest product to have had this effect on me – Revlon ColorStay Ultimate™ Liquid Lipstick.
You know the go by now, Revlon has produced far too many amazing products for me to have to talk you through the brand, besides, they have a bevy of hot spokeswomen to do that job for them – step up Jennifer Connelly and Jessica Biel. But what you do need to know is that Revlon ColorStay Ultimate™ Liquid Lipstick has the most apt name, for it is indeed the ultimate.
As, aforementioned, I am a fickle, cynical bunny when it comes to all things beauty. A typical Aries that possesses slightly high – some have said unreachable – expectations so you can imagine my delight when something does indeed scale the heights of said expectations.
I was in love the moment I slicked on Revlon ColorStay Ultimate™ Liquid Lipstick in Perfect Peony (Top Tomato is strictly my vampy night-time colour). The silky-soft formula glides on with ease and the colour can be built upon if required – always a plus. What surprised me most though, was that after leaving to dry for 60 seconds, the colour lasted throughout my mid-morning Tim Tam break, throughout lunch, so that I was still glossed up for my bus ride home. And when I removed it later on, my lips weren’t dry and flaky as is often the case after wearing long-lasting lip colour; instead they felt as if I’d been wearing balm all day. Sigh. It’s a love affair to remember.
