We review: Holiday heroes
It’s officially holiday season beauties! While it’s an exciting time of the year, it can be hard to stay polished with so many celebrations and holiday festivities. Now is the time to take control of your beauty routine, so that you can feel party ready at a moment's notice. This month, we reviewed four beauty products that will keep you looking fabulous over the next few months. From the anti-aging facial cleansing brush that will leave your complexion looking luminous, to the hair treatment that will restore even the most damaged hair, the festive candle that’s a must-have for Christmas, and the colour-changing lipstick that’s a handbag staple. FOREO LUNA 2 Normal Skin bh’s Kristy says: "I've normally got quite normal skin and never break out. So I was shocked and frustrated when I recently did. Since I've never used the FOREO LUNA 2 Normal Skin on my skin before I was worried that it might exacerbate my pimple situation. I had to charge it for an hour to start with by using a USB cord, so that was easily done. I cleansed my face of makeup, then applied another layer of cleanser and started massaging the Foreo all over my skin. It's meant to give your skin a deep cleanse which we all know is the start of good complexion. The vibration effect was quite gentle on my skin and I was pleasantly surprised to find my skin feeling and looking clean, clearer and soft to touch. It removed easily excess makeup and impurities plus it helped clear up the hormonal pimples that suddenly appeared on my lower cheeks and chins.” bhave Rescue Therapy bh’s Michelle says: “Despite efforts to look after my hair, years of colouring and daily heat styling haven't left it anywhere near as healthy or shiny as I'd like. The bhave Rescue Therapy treatment is an in-salon treatment that uses heat to infuse a 100% bio-keratin complex into the hair shaft. This keratin is similar to hair's natural keratin, so it penetrates easily to strengthen and rebuild the hair from the inside - exactly what I needed! My stylist used a device to microscopically look at my hair before and after the treatment. The 'before' showed a mix of thick and thin outlines of the hair shaft which denotes damaged hair, whereas the 'after' showed a thicker, filled in hair shaft where the damaged areas had been filled in with the keratin. I was in and out of salon in an hour, and the treatment will last around 6-8 weeks depending on how nicely (read: no colouring and less heat!) I treat my hair. I absolutely saw an improvement in my hair after the one treatment and am extending the benefits by using the complementary at-home shampoo and conditioner.” Peppermint Grove Crushed Pine & Clove Candle bh’s Kate says: “We are racing toward the end of the year and the end of the year to me means... Christmas! After living out of home since I was 18 years old, I'll admit there were a few years where I decided to skip Christmas altogether. The tree, the decorations – it just seemed like a lot of effort to get festive. Don't get me wrong – I collected all the presents! – I just didn't decorate my home in any way. But two years ago I decided to get a little tree and some ornaments and I found Christmas so much more fun! Since then I've always made the effort to make my house look a little more merry each year without turning it into a light show. And the Peppermint Grove Crushed Pine & Clove Candle has been key in getting me into the Christmas spirit! It has the most beautiful, subtle scent that reminds me of Christmas but isn't overpowering. I love burning it at night and I find that while it definitely remind me of Christmas, it's also beautiful and rich enough that it could also be burned all year round. It adds the perfect touch of festivity to my home this holiday season and I'm going to be burning it non-stop until Santa comes.” PONi Cosmetics Lip Magic bh’s Sophie says: “This pink lipstick has fast become a staple in my handbag. It’s nourishing like a balm, but the colour payoff is as good as a lipstick! The great thing about this particular lip product is that the colour adjusts to your individual pH level, so it looks slightly different on everyone. Basically, the colour changes to the most flattering pink lipstick shade for whoever is wearing it. Very cool! It’s great for a pick-me-up if you’re feeling a bit blah. The formula is incredibly hydrating which is a huge plus for me. It honestly feels like you’re applying a lip balm. Not to mention, it’s strawberry scented so it’s an absolute pleasure to apply. This product gets two thumbs up from me.” What are your holiday heroes this season? Will you be trying any of these beauty buys?
