Get the look: Beyoncé at the 2018 Grammy Awards

Whenever Beyoncé posts on Instagram, I find myself staring in awe and wondering if I could ever do my makeup the same way. Now, her masterful makeup artist Sir John has answered my prayers and revealed exactly how to get one of Bey’s makeup looks.

Sir has spilled the details on how to get Beyoncé’s makeup from the 2018 Grammy Awards. And if you want a refresher on the look (how could you not?) here it is…

So, first and foremost, we need to talk about those purple lips. To get the vibrant colour, Sir applied the L’Oréal Paris Colour Riche Matte Lip Liner in Strike A Matte-ch all over the lips before mixing two different lipstick shades. “I used Yves Saint Laurent Beauté Tatouage Couture in Fuchsia Intime and Carmine Encounter, applying it straight onto her lips from the tube,” he told Allure. “I start with the deeper of the two shades, then add one layer of the lighter one on top, so it’s just two coats. The formula is nice because it doesn’t stain right away, so you have some play time.”

For Beyoncé’s base, Sir started with a Glossier Skin tint and then the L’Oréal Paris concealer palette. Next, Glossier Cloud Blush was used on Bey’s cheeks in the shade Beam. And finally, Sir always layers his highlighter. The makeup artist used L’Oréal True Match Lumi Glotion before adding the L’Oréal True Match Lumi Shimmerista Highlighting powder in Sunlight.

Underneath those sunnies, Beyoncé was also rocking some killer eye makeup. “I used liquid liner on the top lids and brown liquid liner on the bottom,” said Sir. “I always use brown at the bottom because it doesn’t look too heavy on camera.” And for her lids, Sir used a yet-to-be-released rose gold Glossier eyeshadow – because he’s that good, they send him prototypes!

If you’re keen on a new liquid liner, beautyheaven loves Designer Brands Absolute Precision Liquid Eye Liner and Estée Lauder Double Wear Zero-Smudge Liquid Eyeliner.
