Our Editors reveal the best lipstick shades of 2018

Everyone has a lipstick that makes them feel incredible everytime they wear it. The power of lipstick is real. And one of the perks of being a beauty editor is getting to try A LOT of lipsticks. So, as somewhat of an authority on the best lipsticks, I thought I’d ask my beautyheaven colleagues and fellow beauty editors what their favourite lipsticks were for 2018.

“Based on the luxe packaging alone, I knew I’d be obsessed with the Bobbi Brown Luxe Matte Lip Color lipstick. But once I tried the formula – I was hooked. This luxurious matte lipstick has a matte powder finish (a first-of-its-kind formula for Bobbi Brown) that feels very French. It looks effortlessly chic and feels really comfortable to wear. One swipe across your lips and you get powdery perfection. My favorite shade is Tawny Pink, which is a mid-tone mauve pink.”

“I am obsessed with the M.A.C Lustre Lipstick in Patisserie. It is hard to find a neutral shade that matches my skin tone and this one is the perfect pinky neutral colour. It has sheer to medium coverage, which means that it doesn’t have the staying power of a matte finish but for the colour, moisturisation and lustre finish I don’t mind reapplying a couple of times a day.”

“My favourtie this year has been a Bite Beauty Spice Things Up Amuse Bouche Collection Lipstick in the shade Crushed Chilli. I am usually very tame with my lipstick shades so this bold red was WAY out of my comfort zone. I am obsessed with it though. It’s such a beautiful deep red with a slight purple undertone. I have a bit of ruddy complexion and I struggle with reds but the purple undertone actually works with my skin tone! It’s super light and nourishing on the the lips and has no nasties.”

“My go-to lipstick shade for 2018 is Charlotte Tilbury K.I.S.S.I.N.G in Confession. I’m a sucker for anything Charlotte Tilbury but this shade is a ‘tawny nude’ that is the perfect ‘my lips but better’ colour. The creamy texture means it feels amazing on and it’s never drying but it somehow manages to stay on my lips for ages.”
