The return of the cherry chapstick…

Yes, once relegated to the depths of ‘50s kitsch, you can just imagine it being the ONLY cosmetic in Sandy’s purse as she headed out to meet Danny…yes I’m aware that I’m discussing two entirely fictional people. Today the kooky classic has made a giant leap back into coolness mainly helped by a little lady who goes by the name of Katy Perry.
For those of you not familiar with the I Kissed a Girl singer (honestly, where have you been?), let me bring you up to speed: she sang about, you guessed it, kissing a girl with cherry chapstick on.
Obviously, there’s much more to Ms Perry than meets the eye (or should it be lips?); she’s now vying with Chloë Sevigny for quirky coolness, but, let’s face it, for now, she’ll always be known as the girl who started the cherry chapstick revolution.
We’re not entirely sure how cherry chapstick brands will cope with this new breed of fan but heck, it’s advertising that money can’t buy!
Try these cherry numbers for style:

This tingling stick combines the traditional Carmex moisturising qualities with SPF 15 to help lips stay safe from the sun, wind and damaging effects of the environment and remain cherry fantastic.

I am not really a fan of cherry flavoured anything, only the real thing, however I do love the song.
We had freshly picked cherries from the neighbours tree yesterday. Yum, so big, juicy and the colour was georgeous. Very nice dipped in chocolate and if you want then dipped in coconut (cherry ripe). ......................... oh I Love Christmas.

A few Cherries for Christmas of course! Presents for my birthday on the 9th that goes without saying. But you also asked what am I waiting for Sarah and I am waiting for many things most that can't be discussed here but one I can. On Monday I put a barbie doll under the k-mart wishing Tree and do you know what I noticed? A whole lot of cards, children, adults and the elderly not having enough money to buy a present for their child or the saddest part having nobody in their life giving them presents. So what am I waiting for you ask well today I am waiting for when I next go out to the wishing tree to put another present under the tree ( nothing to dear as unfortunatly I don't have a whole lot of money but I have a roof over my head ) that those tags all be gone and the tree be filled with many presents because as a child who grew up poor knows how important it is for a young girl to receive a barbie doll. I know it's not cherries but it goes under the category of what I am waiting for. What are you waiting for Sarah!

I really do need to find a distributor for Urban Rituelle products. And I love Katy Perry's songs, not just 'I Kissed a Girl', but also 'Hot n Cold' and her latest, of which I don't know the name.

I love lip balms and glosses but haven't tried a Cherry flavoured one because I hate artificial cherry flavouring. It tastes nothing at all like the real cherries we have growing at home. I'm interested in the Urban Rituelle one though, their balms always have realistic flavouring.

I beg to differ, I'm not a fan of lipbalms. Having said that, I do love cherries, as long as it's not Cherry Blair (totally don't like her)! LOL. :)

I love love cherries. I brought a kilo of fresh cherries on the weekend and nearly went through the lot. So much for sharing with bubs and the hubby!! Cherry Ripe is one of my favourite chocolates as well. I'm so addicted to cherry friands. A soy chai and cherry friand is simply heaven!!! I actually tried looking for Cherry Chapstick. Australia doesn't get the cherry version. Must give Carmex, Nivea or Urban Ritual a try.

I remember having a cherry chap stick when I was in primary school, I use to carry it around everywhere and hey it's made a comeback. My mum was right, you should never throw away anything you like or that's gone out of style because chances are it will be back better than ever! I love cherries, tis the season...

I have Niveas Lip Care Cherry & like it but their pearl'n'shine is my fave of the 2. I was lucky 2 receive the Carmex in strawberry from BH recently as my gift & am keen 2 try it as my nivea balms are almost finished. The urtban rituelle sounds like a gorgeous one 2 try, much more natural also!

I love the packaging of the Carmex. Very retro. Am dubious about "flavoured" lip products though, as they never quite hit the mark of the flavour they're trying to replicate. Aside from that all I want to do is eat the thing if smells tasty!

Cherry Lipbal, mmmmm. I like the sound of that. I know I would be licking my lips the whole time. My friend has the Nivea Lipbalm and loves it. I should go out and get some once my current lipbalm is finished.
