Could Caitlyn Jenner be the new face of MAC?

First Caitlyn Jenner landed the cover of Vanity Fair, and now the transgender sensation could be set to become a MAC ambassador.
According to dailymail.co.uk, the celebrity is being considered as a possible spokeswoman for the make-up giant’s Viva Glam campaign.
The colourful cosmetics line has previously championed a number of LGBT-friendly celebs, including drag queen RuPaul, Ricky Martin, Elton John, Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj.

Given the brand’s inclusive motto, “All ages, all races, all sexes,” we can definitely see how Jenner’s a suitable candidate.
According to pagesix.com, MAC’s parent company Estee Lauder is already a big fan of the celeb, with group president John Dempsy describing Caitlyn’s Vanity Fair cover as “simply amazing, iconic, epic, disruptive, bold, glamorous.”
He also added: “There’s never been someone with that level of celebrity who’s ever done something so bold and so visible in public, and it’s done very elegantly and glamorously.”
We couldn’t agree more, so we’ll be waiting with our fingers and toes crossed to see whether Caitlyn lands the gig!

Good for her for being brave throughout this whole thing and following her heart. I don't have an opinion on her being the face of MAC. Neutral!

I have always thought of the name MAC as slightly masculine and manly, so yeah I see how that could fit.

True that! And all of the instore style setting is all simple, sleek and black. Like men in suits...

Having a celebrity endorse a brand does not encourage me to buy the products.

I think that Caitlin is a great fit for Mac.
I have spent hundreds of dollars on lipsticks this year for my Kardashian mad, teenaged daughter.

I am not generally a fan of celebrity endorsed beauty products. Also, I think MAC has a younger targeted audience so Caitlyn might not be the best fit.

Isn't this all a bit too soon? I mean really, she only JUST came out as transgender

I've never bought any MAC products, but celebrity endorsements don't sway me to buy or not buy cosmetics.

Hey. If they can have Ru Paul then why not Caitlyn? So long as there is a focus on the true issue, which is her coming out as transgender / transsexual (and my hope she is going to be a true representative rather than a glorified pretty face), then go hard, girl.

Well done for her. I've never bought anything from Mac that is celebrity-inspired if the quality of the product isn't there and unfortunately, a lot of their celebrity-inspired collections are substandard.

She's definitely very topical right now so from a marketing viewpoint, its genius to get her on board

I don't know if she would be the right fit for MAC - generally, they cater to a younger demographic.

I am not sure I will be rushing out to buy the new products either but good on her if she gets the role.

Given all the hype about her coming out, I'm sure if she became the face of MAC it would attract a lot of people. Kudos to MAC.

I have a feeling there is a fair bit of airbrushing at play, but why not. I think I preferred Ru Paul though.
