It’s come to our attention that Kerry Washington does not sleep on a beauty moment. Whether it’s a statement lip or a blue eyeshadow look, her makeup game is unmatched. Just spend 30 seconds scrolling her Instagram feed and you’ll see what we mean. As for her pull within the skin care realm? She’s influenced many of our purchase decisions, including the drugstore moisturiser she (and her husband) both swear by. And thanks to her latest gold-dipped manicure, her beauty portfolio just got even richer.
Stepping out at the Producers Guild Awards, the Little Fires Everywhere actress paired her nude lip and slicked-back hair with a gilded French-tipped manicure. Which, considering the timing, we can only imagine has been inspired by the announcement of the 2022 Met Gala theme: Gilded Glamour. Or, hey, perhaps it was the other way around. Who’s to know?
However, one thing we do know is how the manicure was executed. Nail stickers? Forget it. A basic polish? No chance. According to Kerry’s go-to manicurist, Kim Truong (otherwise known as @kimkimnails), this decadent manicure was secured by individually dipping each finger into rose gold chrome. Pretty special, right?
But for those of us at home that want the same glimmering champagne finish (via a slightly more achievable method) we recommend the essie Metallics polish in the shade ‘Penny Talk’ ($12.49, Chemist Warehouse) to mimic Kerry’s look.

I’m more of a silver, white gold or platinum person myself! Rose gold is nice too though – gold suits other people more – I think I’ve just got too much yellow going on already with my hair and my skin.
