There was no shortage of things to talk about following the 2022 Oscars. But aside from the red carpet beauty looks and stunning gowns, we need to talk about Jessica Chastain’s skin.
Winning the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Eyes of Tammy Faye, her bronze and lilac dress wasn’t the only thing sparkling all night. The 45-year-old’s complexion was positively radiant. And it remained so well into the evening, as evident as ever at the Vanity Fair after party.
This isn’t the first time Jessica’s gorgeous face has caused us to stop and stare. In fact, we’ve made a conscious effort to hunt down her skin care routine in the past. This particular glow, though? Turns out it’s courtesy of the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter ($65 at MECCA).
Makeup artist Kristofer Buckle gave a breakdown of the look on Instagram. And while the La Mer skin prep shouldn’t be ignored, the reputation of Hollywood Flawless Filter has all signs pointing to its glow power.
Never heard of this wondrous product? Described as a ‘multitasking glow booster’, it brings together what we’d say are the best parts of a primer, concealer and illuminator. Wear it either underneath or on top of foundation and it’ll help to blur and smooth the skin while seriously upping the glow factor.
By all reports (and reviews) we’ve seen online, the $65 price tag for the generous-sized product is well worth it. But if it doesn’t fit your budget, there are some other options you could try.
The Morphe Luminous Complexion Primer ($25 at MECCA) is said to carry similar luminous skin-prepping qualities for foundation. And Revlon’s Skinlights Face Glow Illuminator ($23.49 at Chemist Warehouse) is a more affordable option for enhancing your favourite foundation or tinted moisturiser.
Then all you need to complete your Jessica Chastain-inspired look is a gold shimmer eyeshadow and a set of falsies. We’re loving the new Glam By Manicare® HYDRO LASH lashes — simply dip the band in water to activate the adhesive. Genius!
