9 Subtle Shimmer And Glam Glitter Looks To Test Drive This Holiday Season

Party season is in full swing, and so is your excuse to wear a glitter eyeshadow (if you even needed one). Unlike glitter lips, it won’t end up in your champagne or like a glitter hairspray, it won’t refuse to wash out until well into the new year.

Whether you choose a shimmer shadow or chunky confetti, you can instantly transform your look from a subtle, dewy sheen to a dazzling, sparkly glow in just a few swipes of product.

So to celebrate the holiday season and the new year, here are nine different glitter looks that we urge you to recreate.

Add definition and dimension to your eyes by placing a finely pigmented glitter on the inner corners and pulling it into the centre of the lid.

Create this dewy holographic eye look by applying a cream shimmer shadow like the Charlotte Tilbury Mesmerise Shadow ($44, Charlotte Tilbury) or the Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick ($40, Adore Beauty) across the lid.

For a confetti-like effect, apply pieces of chunkier glitter from lash line to eyebrow and finish with a few coats of wispy mascara.

A subtle, finely-milled shimmer will enhance the shine from your highlighter and create the perfect complement to a red.

In order to recreate this glitter-on-glitter tonal pink look, apply a light shimmer base to the lid, then scatter larger pieces from the crease upward.

Take inspiration from @keleteter’s look and bejewel your lids with heart-shaped chunks of pink, purple and red glitter. As for the rest of your makeup, you can keep it as minimal as you wish. For us, this nude lip and light blush is the perfect pairing.

A creamy bronzer, a glossy lip, and a luminous metallic cream shadow will keep you looking fresh and dewy this summer.

  1. I am cringing at the idea that one of those large pieces of glitter will be getting into her eye – and ouch that would hurt! Besides that, it does look very cool. I bought the Ho Ho Hocus from MAC this season to add some glitter glam oomph to my green eyes. I wore it as an eyeliner not an eyeshadow though
