How-to: bold and bright summer make-up

Be honest – how often do you reach for the browns, greys and neutrals in your eyeshadow collection? I’m going to go ahead and guess it’s a lot. Because I do it, too. We like to play it safe. Also, we like neutral shades because they tend to look really fabulous.

But what about if we all tried – for just one day – to wear a make-up look that’s a little brighter, a little bolder, a little more fabulous?

I think it sounds like an excellent plan. We loved this Neon Muse look created by cosmetic brand Mirabella, and luckily, we have the how-to to go with it.

Step one:

Even out your skin tone and hide imperfections with a light application of Mirabella Skin Tint Cream-to Powder.

Step two:

Using your fingertips or a flat eyeshadow brush, apply Mirabella Pigment Powder in I Believe in Pink onto your eyelids, softly blending out above the crease toward the brow bones.
bh also recommends: bodyography Pure Pigment Eyeshadows.

Step three:

Sweep Mirabella Pigment Powder in Tale of Tangerine under your lower lashes, blending downward and onto the upper cheekbones just under your eyes.
bh also recommends: MAC Pigment in Electric Coral.

Step four:

Brush Mirabella Pigment Powder in I Believe in Pink onto the apples of your cheeks. Diffuse and soften the colour by blending it up toward your temples and blend up to where you’ve applied Mirabella Pigment Powder in Tale of Tangerine.
bh also recommends: Natio Blusher in Rouge Glow.

Step five:

Use a lip brush to saturate your lips with Mirabella Pigment Powder in I Believe in Pink. Line your lips with the tip of your lip brush.
bh also recommends: Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Supreme Matte in Pink.

Step six:

Apply a few layers of Mirabella Neon Muse Double-Ended Mascara to your upper lashes to give the look a hit of edginess.
bh also recommends: 1000 Hour Coloured Lashes in Blue Wave
PS: If you’re not a fan of coloured mascara, no problem. Apply a couple of coats of a thickening and volumising black mascara.
