And the new titleholder is only $16
Mascara has to be one of the absolute hardest makeup products to shop for. We all want such different things when it comes to the wand and formula we like to work with. It’s definitely not the kind of product you can switch in and out without noticing a difference, either – some mascaras result in a smudged, spidery mess whereas others fulfil our fluttery, full lash fantasies.
And so, when we settle on an option that gives us the exact results that we’re after, we’re seldom tempted to keep trying others. That’s how Heidi Klum felt when she was told to try a tube of a new standout – very reluctant.
Here’s how her mascara discovery journey went (and which phenomenal formula she landed on long-term)…
Heidi Klum favourite mascara
Heidi confessed in a conversation with New Beauty that her team encouraged her to switch out her old faithful formula, and that she was originally the furthest thing from interested. “I was like, ‘There’s no way I’m going to change from L’Oréal Paris Voluminous Mascara ($11.48 at Chemist Warehouse) to anything else’”, she revealed.

For the record, we can see why she rated it so highly – featuring panthenol and Ceramide-R, it’s designed to protect and condition lashes whilst delivering a soft, fluffy lash look sans any clumps or flakes. That basically reads like the universal mascara wishlist, right?
However, when their encouragement persisted, she gave in and gave the newbie a go, a move that ended up being a very smart one.
“They were like, ‘Just give this L’Oréal Paris Panorama Mascara ($16.49 at Chemist Warehouse) a try.’ I was like, ‘No, but I love my Voluminous’ and they’re like, ‘No, no, just give it a go.’ And I have to say, I swapped, now I’m a Panorama fan, so you should try it.”

So what was it about the Panorama mascara that dethroned Heidi’s previous number one? Well, it offers several of the same standout benefits (clump-proof, smudge-proof, etc.), but actually comes packed with a fancy little thing called ‘Stretchflex complex’, which allows the formula to wrap each individual lash and keep them perfectly separated for the ideal fanned out effect.
We think our challenge is clear: pick up a tube of both options and put them to the test, just like Heidi, to crown our own personal favourite. We advise you join us and share every thought that comes to mind…

Have you tried either of these mascaras? Do you have a personal fave mascara?
I believe I have tried the first one
I mainly use Maybelline or Rimmel
Yes I am the same.
I love a good mascara.Haven’t tried these yet.
Me too, I find that a good mascara is easier to use and one gets the lashes looking longer and better
I haven’t tried either of these. They both look good.
I don’t know why I haven’t tried either of those two mascaras.
These are on my list.
I haven’t tried either of these. Benefit Roller Lash is the best I’ve tried, but it’s expensive, so I buy whatever’s on sale.
Always fun to try new products
I do really like L’Oreal mascaras, they are one of my favs
I use Maybelline firework mascara currently.
The panorama sounds good, I might give it a try next time I need a mascara.
It’s hard to swap when you’re happy with what you already use
