I have always thought of myself as having a good head of hair. You know – the kind of hair that, as a child, old people would ruffle and say “Ooooh, you have lovely thick hair, don’t you?” Actually, on several occasions this was preceded by being mistaken for a boy – but that’s another story. Anyway, I would nod agreeably, not entirely understanding why thick hair was good.
As a result I’ve always felt a little cheated in the eyelash department. Surely strong, lustrous locks (I’m talking it up – true, but remember how everyone thought I was a boy?) meant I was also entitled to long, abundant and very sexy eyelashes? Not so. I am limited in this department.
So when I was in a meeting with the good people from Max Factor last week and we were discussing the lash issue – or lack thereof – they invited me to try Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara.
I learned, and was surprised to hear, that Max Factor is known for its great mascara. Always has been, apparently. I’m an old fan – in that I’ve used this brand since teenage-dom back in the UK and always loved its colour cosmetics, especially the lipsticks (sadly, there was no gloss in those days).
It was one of my make-up brand staples alongside Boots No 17 and Rimmel London – all good value brands with lots of exciting new colours to try. But Max Factor’s expertise in eyelashes was news to me – and maybe news to you too?
Back in Sydney and I saved the mascara trial for a special occasion – doing an interview with a handsome Frenchman. The results? You’ll have to watch the video to find out! But in the meantime, just two words: I’m impressed.
Ps…and I think Olivier was too. He didn’t actually say so, I was just feeling the admiration for my all new, longer, blacker and better-than-ever lashes.
