Long-lasting foundation that covers blemishes?

Hi BH’ers, I need your help! I am 16, I have a yellow/olive undertone to my skin and it is medium to fair. I am after a long-lasting foundation that wont melt and that covers blemishes pretty well. Any recommendations?

I think clinique have some of the best coverage liquid foundations I have ever used, and always have great staying power as well 🙂

You should try clinique’s superbalanced foundation. The nice lady that served me at myer applied it on for me, it covered my blemishes really well. The redness disappeared and this is only with the foundation. The coverage is natural matte so it isn’t heavy but gives good coverage.

I love the Dreamskin Mineral makeup for my 16 year old, it helps her acne, and doesnt make it worse, and she got a great little sample set, so it was easy to match her skin. I think mineral makeup is better for young girls than the clog your pores stuff.

Check out MAC Studio Fix Liquid – its so popular because it lasts all day and has very good coverage. A lot of girls I know love it, and they use it with the Studio Fix Powder, which they dust over and it really covers blemishes really well.

I haven’t tried the liquid because I do prefer a sheer-medium so I can control coverage – but if you want medium-full coverage then Studio Fix Liquid is definitely worth checking out~

Your welcome Lil Berry I think you should find a nice foundation that evens out your skintone, rather than covers up unsightly pimples, any foundation that is thick enough to actually cover a pimple is far too much. I think you hit the nail on the head saying less is more when it comes to foundations, no matter what they claim, no foundation can cover a pimple and still look natural. I am loving mineral powder concealers that are easy to build up and then blend in to your foundation, so you are only layering on your actual pimple and not on your whole face 🙂

A good one is the Skin Clearing one by Almay. It’s for combo-oily skin and reduces blemishes, lasts ages and is very good for covering up pimples and scarring 🙂 And its reasonably priced too 😉

Thanks melmeko and Pooky – I might to foundation shopping with my sisters when they come to visit – they are also on BH.
A thick cakey base is definitely not what I want – def true that less is more when it comes to foundations.
I will check out Revlon Colourstay on BH – thanks Pooky.

    I agree with melmeko!

And if you want a decently priced and good foundation, go with Revlon Colourstay! It will last all day and had good coverage, it’s my fav for bad skin days.
Maybe try a concealer that has ingredients to fight bacteria too – there is a thread about this at http://www.beautyheaven.com.au/forums/4/topics/6769?page=1

You would be much better off getting a good concealer for covering blemishes darl, foundation will even up your skin tone but unless you want a thick cakey look it is not the best, a concealer however can be built up to the point where it totally covers any flaws 🙂
