Expert Review: Rimmel London Match Perfection Foundation SPF20

Rimmel London has just released an updated version of the Match Perfection Foundation: Match Perfection SPF20.So what’s different about this foundation – besides the addition of sun protection, that is? Well, like the original, this new version features wonder-tone technology, which allows the foundation to mimic the tone and texture of your skin to leave a natural finish but on top of that, it contains a 24-hour moisturising complex and vitamin E to keep your skin hydrated and protected all day. It’s also got some nifty soft focus powders to help blur imperfections leaving smooth, flawless coverage. I gave both the new foundation and the Fix & Protect Makeup Primer a whirl, and I have to say I was really impressed with the results. As an avid fan of the original, I was happy to hear the new version promised the same skin-matching claims, and even more overjoyed to see that it delivered. I felt the foundation blended in really easily and didn’t leave any obvious lines around my jawline, and it stayed that way all day. As for the primer, I found it did a great job of mattifying my T-zone and kept shine at bay as the day wore on. It smelt a little like sunscreen, but that could be the SPF25 in the formula and it didn’t really bother me. For more of my review, check out the video above. You can also see how I used the products – as well as the Match Perfection Concealer and Loose Powder – to create my blended base. If you don’t have time to watch the video, here it is in a nutshell:
Have you tried the original or updated Match Perfection foundation? What do you look for in a foundation?
