It’s been an amazing year for product reviews at beautyheaven, so to celebrate we took to the forums and asked our members to tell us what their favourite beauty products were in 2017. As expected, our members didn’t hold back. From skin care saviours to makeup must-haves, these are the products that are really worth investing in.
Here are the best beauty products in 2017, as voted by our members.
Skin Care
bh member annette81:
“The biggest surprise for me was the Pur Cosmetics Blue Agave Mask. It works so well for my skin that I immediately stocked up after only using it once. I now use it twice a week and it still works just as well as the first time. I’ve also recently tried the philosophy range which is also really agreeing with my skin. And of course the Alpha-H Liquid Gold which is a staple in my skin care routine.”
bh member Lucrecia629:
“I was on the trial team for the Trilogy Sensitive Very Gentle Hydra-Mask and oil. The mask was a standout for me. It's fantastic! It diminishes redness better than some $200+ serums I've tried.”
bh member Beauty Obsession:
“Two products which I've been using regular after discovering them through trials and then repurchasing are Natural Instincts eye creme (in-expensive natural brand which has reduced dark circles and softened my under eye area). The other is Burt's Bees BB in light. This is a great natural every day BB which evens skin tone and looks great on my skin. Glides onto my skin effortlessly for a nice dewy finish. There are heaps more products but the ones I mentioned are my current standouts!”
bh member Seashells:
“Aspect Extreme B17 serum - this stuff makes my wallet groan, but I have noticed a bit of a difference in my skin since using it. I have a pigmentation spot that likes to crop up on my left cheek & this stuff makes it disappear. Also seems to help with my surgical scar on my forehead. I only use it at night though.”
bh member misfortune8:
“Definitely Sukin Super Greens Detoxifying Facial Scrub! I've been searching for a new favourite cleanser since ditching Bioré, because it contained eco-harmful microbeads.”
bh member IndieAna:
“My pick of the year would have to be Simple Hydrating Cleansing Oil, it's made removing makeup so easy and is very affordable, too.”
bh member Princess Perfume:
“I'm loving Garniers Hydrabomb masks -especially the blue and green ones. They really make a difference to my skin.”
Makeup
bh member duality:
“For me it would have to be the Estée Lauder Double Wear foundation. It gives me a flawless, natural matte finish without the need of a setting powder. It’s transfer-proof, doesn’t oxidise or crease even in extreme conditions. I’m always confident when wearing this foundation and never have to worry about ducking off to a bathroom to check my makeup as it looks flawless morning to night.”
bh member Gilded:
“For me it would have to be the IT Cosmetics Flat Top Buffing foundation brush. It gives a flawless, airbrushed finish and the brush bristles are super soft. I'm pleasantly surprised by the speed at which my foundation goes on when I buffer it with this brush.”
bh member imalittleteapot:
“StylePro makeup brush cleaners! I bought one for myself and my daughter.”
bh member Harmony Queen:
“I still like Burt’s Bees affordable organic cosmetic products, especially their BB cream and lip items which are high quality and don’t let me down. I haven't tried their skincare range yet.”
bh member Eskimo82:
“I've just got my hands on the Urban Decay After Dark Palette and I am absolutely loving the metallic colours. It was a gift, so not something that I would have ever thought to buy for myself because I'm more into natural makeup with an intense black/brown smokey eye for night - but the colours are really beautiful. I've been trying out different looks from Youtube and I'm super excited for the party season! Like all Urban Decay eyeshadows, is amazingly pigmented, easily buildable and blendable. I'd definitely recommend it if anyone's looking to mix their look up a bit.”
Body & Health
bh member Seashells:
“Electric toothbrushes are the best! I had one when I was younger because of my braces, but eventually it died & I went back to using a manual one. I bought a new Oral-B one around my birthday & I love it!”
bh member misfortune8:
“My new Oral-B Vitality Power Toothbrush. I LOVE IT! Why on earth did I scrub my choppers manually my whole life?”

Squee I get name-checked twice in a BH article! Seriously, electric toothbrushes are awesome & although mine's not the Rose Gold one linked above, it is still really good. The Aspect serum is the bomb, but the price makes me weep!

I'm so behind, still using bamboo wooden one. May try the electric, when it is so praised!
