4 of the best foundations for sensitive skin

Finding skin care products that are gentle enough to not irritate sensitive skin is hard enough. Add cosmetics into the mix and, well, it just seems like a lost cause.
It certainly may seem that way, but it really is possible to find a foundation that can help make your skin look its best, without making it feel its worst. You just need to know which brands to look out for. There are plenty that cater to those who have skin that would flare up in the mere presence of parabens, talc, and fragrances.
Here are four foundations that will offer you the coverage you crave (yes, that includes covering redness and rosacea) as well as being kind and gentle to your skin. They are also excellent options for use after that chemical peel or laser treatment when your skin is healing and feeling a little tender.
LYCOGEL BREATHABLE CAMOUFLAGE
This water-resistant foundation was originally developed to effectively cover up skin and help heal it after procedures like fractional laser, skin needling and microdermabrasion. The technology used in the formulation ensures your skin can breathe, without compromising on the wear of it or how well it conceals any redness or blemishes. The colour-corrective foundation can be used to help heal a multitude of skin concerns, including eczema, acne, psoriasis, vitilgo and rosacea.
YOUNGBLOOD LOOSE MINERAL FOUNDATION
Did you know that Youngblood was first developed in a medical setting, specifically for women recovering from laser and chemical peels? It’s true. And today, the Loose Mineral Foundation works a treat to give skin a naturally flawless finish while also caring for sensitive skin. The mineral foundation is completely free from talc, perfumes and chemical dyes, and is non-comedogenic.

GLO MINERALS PRESSED BASE
glo minerals prides itself on helping women – especially those with problematic complexions – feel confident in their own skin. And that’s exactly why its products, including this foundation, are packed full with antioxidants and vitamins to look after the health of your skin. But it’s not just helping your skin by treating and healing it from the inside, it helps it look flawless on the outside, too, by working to cover any troublesome areas with high-pigment minerals.
OXYGENETIX
This soothing foundation does wonders to heal skin after clinical treatments while offering brilliant coverage, meaning that those with sensitive skin (or those who suffer from acne, rosacea or eczema) will find it a pleasure to use. The formulation is oil-free and lets your skin breathe, which helps your skin heal and renew. Oh, and even better? The foundation is transfer-resistant, so the make-up will stay where it’s meant to.

Have not heard of any of these brands. Luckily I don’t have sensitive skin as I’d hate to be locked into using these expensive brands.

Unless the prices on these have been updated the costing is totally inaccurate because the blog was done in 2014.

My skin can react to some things, but I have now figured out what will work and what won't for my skin type.

I find it interesting that products for sensitive skins seems to result from the skin being sensitive after either platic surgery or cosmecutical procedures, a byproduct almost. I think that may also explain the price point. If you have spent several hundred dollars on laser for example, $80 for a foundation will seem reasonable.

I've sensitive skin & I haven't had any form of procedures to do with plastic surgery or cosmetic surgery. Some people just have this without all of that.
