The beauty prep for every summer occasion

I don’t know whether it’s the sun, the longer days or the ease of slipping on a dress, but summer to me means one thing: PARTY!
It seems I’m not the only one either, because as soon as that sun is out and about, the invitations start rolling in. And as our weekends and weeknights become filled with fun activities, our beauty prep has never been so important.
So whether you’re heading to a Christmas party, backyard BBQ or stunning beach wedding - make sure you’re completely on top of these crucial beauty prep steps.
#1 Hair removal
Hair removal is a prep step that can be completed days and even weeks in advance (depending on your preferred method). Always consider what you’re wearing as this will dictate which body parts need attention, whether it’s your underarms, legs or bikini line. And don’t forget about your brows either! Keeping your brows shaped and tidy can make a big difference to your overall look. Once you’ve completed your top-to-toe hair removal, you’ll feel more confident and ready to party!
#2 Perfecting your skin
To achieve a completely flawless and glowing beauty look, the next prep step is perfecting your skin. And don’t worry, there’s no fussing about with fake tan or stained sheets in this step.
Just as foundation can create a flawless base on your face, Sally Hansen Airbrush Legs Makeup can do the same for your body - providing full coverage for your unwanted imperfections. So if you have any bruises, spider veins or those annoying little red dots on your body, you can consider them covered.
The Airbrush Makeup comes in different shades to suit different skin tones, meaning it’s not only easy to blend, but the finish is seamless. You simply apply it to the area using your hands, one hour before dressing, to leave you with flawless, glowing skin (and no unwanted imperfections in sight!). You can see exactly how to apply it in our how-to video here.
The formula is water- and transfer-resistant, but the best part is that as soon as you’re done partying, it can easily be washed off with soap and water. It also comes in a travel size for when you need to go straight from your desk to the dancefloor. So no matter what parties are on the agenda (planned and last minute), you’ll be covered!
#3 Nailing your mani
Chipped nails can drag down your entire look and when you’ve got a busy social calendar, you want to make sure your mani is built to last. So before popping on a colour, make sure to give your nails a good file and buff. And even though it requires a little bit more effort, always start with a base coat and end with a top coat - the extra strength and longevity of your polish will make it worth your while.
And one last thing...
If you’re heading to an outdoor day event, always apply sunscreen before anything else and try to stay in the shade when you can. You don’t want to head to your next summer party with red, peeling skin!

I do all of the above!!!! Except party ... (And the leg make-up) I mainly lounge with drinks these days! Haha Really important to wear sunscreen with broad spectrum and spf50+ Also creams can only do so much! It's important to cover with clothing too! I know it's hard but I have to try to not get too much sun!

I swear when your eyebrows are shaped and waxed/tweezed (whatever you prefer) makes the world of difference. I know when I haven't had my brows done, I just don't feel I look good . Soon as I get them waxed I literally Do feel %100 better about my appearance!!

I actually don't mind shaving - gives me a chance to unwind in the bath with some candles.

Oh how I wish summer was just starting, instead there has been a cold change in the weather that is usual for this time of year.

I haven't tried this out, I'd feel a little odd tanning my legs but not my arms or other areas

Aside from the fact that red peeling skin also means pre-cancerous skin, it'd hurt just to wear anything party like!

Stepping up the sunscreen application for summer. In winter, my body usually gets a miss because it's covered.

Nope I don't really go to parties anymore. I still enjoy pampering myself and making myself summer ready! Need a good body exfoliator and moisteriser! Never tried tanning - it's not my thing.

Summer and I are NOT good friends. Much prefer to be comfortably cooler than I rarely am in summer.
