Natural Mineral Cover Foundation Reviews

I've always wanted a foundation which was kind to my skin, something that was cruelty free and made with natural ingredients - so this foundation ticks all the boxes! I love how easy it is to apply (it buffs into my skin really well and doesn't crease), and it feels great on as it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin! I tend to use this brush with the travel brush from NBN, which is really handy for touch ups as well (these are minimal however!)

This brand has always been a lovely Australian brand to come back to for their wonderful brush line, great eye shadows and the famous mineral foundation! I have been an avid long time user of a not to be named famous mineral foundation company. The only thing stopping me from switching to this brand is the limited colour range. If I am to use this as an all over foundation and build the coverage I know it’s capable of, I need that good colour range to choose from. Other than that, it’s still a beautiful foundation to dust over for light coverage if you have nice skin and just want to even it out

I had been wanting to try this product for sometime and when I got this opportunity I was really excited.

I use the nude by nature brush to apply it on my face and neck after using some moisturiser and primer. The powder is all natural and provides good coverage and not feel it on your skin. It keeps your skin moisturised as well due to the Kaolin Clay , skin looks radiant.

Great product for everyday use and it would be good in the long run for your skin to be able to breath due to the natural ingredients used.

To date I have not really been a big fan of the loose powder foundations for a simple reason as they are really messy . I have to admit that has not changed but the design of the tub helps with a very small quantity being dispensed and you only require a small amount of powder.

This product gets big points for how easy it is to apply. I received the Medium from the Natural Beauty Month Event at bh. This mineral powder is so easy to put on - I don't even need to use my fingers at all like with a liquid foundation. It goes on seamless as I swirl the brush around my face. Also, the lady at the Nude By Nature stand at the event said it can be sort of 'pushed into' the skin so I do a bit of that and a bit of swirling to get a flawless and seamless look.

I love how it can be put on with just a light hand or a heavier hand for more coverage. My skin looks smooth and amazing with this product especially using the Nude By Nature primer underneath but any primer works well!

This keeps my skin looking flawless all day - it doesn't wear away during the day like some foundations can.

The ingredients in this formula are beneficial to the skin - natural and non-drying. I can even use this near my eyes - I like to use the Nude By Nature Eye Primer first and a good eye cream too.

This is used also by my daughter who has sensitive skin and she loves it too.

I got this at the BH Natural Beauty Month event in the shade "Light". I am glad I got that shade, rather than picking up the "Fair" shade, because the next day, I was in a store and I compared the two, the latter being completely pink, but no lighter than the former.

Light is very yellow toned, but it's slightly too dark for me. I am very, very pale, but have yellow/olive tones in my skin. I know it's difficult to formulate very pale shades in mineral makeup, so I'm not going to hold it against Nude By Nature or any other brand for that sake. I just find that the colour range to be very narrow (50 shades of beige), and really not catering to very pale and very dark tones.

As for the formula, I generally don't like the look of powder on my skin, because of how dry and crepey it gets, and powder just makes it look worse. The cover is also very sheer to medium, but it can get very cakey as more is applied.

I feel that many people giving lower ratings to this product are misunderstanding about it. I will admit that I was also one of those people until recently.
This foundation will not give the same type of thick, full coverage as some liquid foundations and therefore shouldn’t be compared to such products.

I had purchased a nude by nature complexion starter kit about 4 years ago. I bought it in light/medium which was the wrong shade for me to use in winter but perfect for summer.
I had used the product without really knowing how to best apply it or what it’s potential was.
At the time I had really bad skin with a lot of blemishes and I also preferred a more ‘instagram’ type of makeup at the time. Seeing as I wasn’t immediately ‘wowed’ by this product, it sat in my vanity catching dust.

A lot has changed in the 4 years since I first tried nude by nature’s mineral foundation.
To state the obvious, I have aged by 4 years and am now in my mid 30’s. My skin has also aged and is showing some fine lines but has cleared up dramatically as a result of good skin care and a good diet. I still get hormonal acne around the chin and jawline at ‘that time of the month’.
I have also matured and I no longer want to cake my face every day with heavy makeup. I no longer look to Instagram clones as role models.
Lastly, my life has become a lot busier with my job requiring me to look well polished and to wear makeup.
These days I prefer a more natural makeup look for day to day wear, I still love to get glammed up but it’s not practical for daily wear. I now save the full coverage, dramatic makeup for special events.

When it comes to my daily makeup, I want to enhance and balance my skin and features, not hide them. I now take the approach ‘less is more’. I prefer something which is fast and easy to apply so that I can be out the door fast in the mornings and that will wash off with minimal effort in the evenings.

I had learned at beauty school that powders were to be avoided on mature skin as they emphasise lines and wrinkles so with that in mind, I never once considered using a powder foundation until a client told me that it was the only type of foundation that DIDN’T emphasise her fine lines. She told me that liquid foundations creased and sat in her lines, making her skin look worse than it was and making her appear older than her age.
I assumed that she was just using the wrong type of liquid foundation because surely there was no way that powder foundation would disguise lines better than a liquid? I assumed that she was using a matte, full coverage foundation and that her application was flawed and so I had her remove her makeup and I then proceeded to prep her face and apply a high quality medium coverage, radiance boosting serum foundation to her skin. After setting her face with powder and misting with setting spray, I was shocked to see that her skin actually looked much better before. Before I had touched her face I hadn’t noticed her fine lines, they were almost airbrushed and diffused. Now with the liquid foundation I could see that she appeared older and that her lines and pores were more visible.
I would never have guessed this result.

I learned something life changing that day as I too had noticed that my foundation would settle into my smile lines and pores especially after a few hours of wear, making my wrinkles more visible and making me look older than I actually was.
I remembered that I had some nude by nature mineral cover at home and that night I tried it. Surely enough, my skin looked airbrushed and flawless.

I immediately drove to the pharmacy and purchased another complexion kit in my correct shade this time.
Since then, I have been using this as my daily foundation and my skin has never looked so naturally flawless. It also has cut my makeup application time in half, for which I am truly thankful!

I apply an SPF 50 tinted moisturiser beneath the mineral foundation and also if I have any blemishes I use a concealer after the spf. I then just sweep the mineral cover over my skin and buff it in. It does need to be set, like any foundation. I have an oily t zone and so I set this with the nude by nature setting powder. I then apply my blush and contour (they glide on and blend in effortlessly over the nbn powder) and then use a setting mist to mesh all of the powder products together and give a natural, long lasting finish.

The result? My skin but better. My best skin ever.
This foundation gives me even skin tone, medium coverage, an airbrushed finish, naturally healthy and radiant looking skin. It doesn’t look like I’ve caked on makeup.
My skin feels light and can breathe, like I’m not wearing any foundation. It lasts well too and is easy to touch up.

I since purchased the full size jar and I keep the smaller one that I got in the starter kit, in my purse for touch ups.

All in all this is a fantastic, holy grail product for me now! I love how easy it is to apply compared to messy liquid foundation and I love the finish it gives. It’s also heaps better for your skin, especially if you’re acne prone.

I used to use another brand of mineral powder, but then it became unavailable in Australia and it was just so difficult to get my hands on that I decided the time had come to find an alternative. Of course I have heard about Nude by Nature for years but I was worried the coverage wouldn't be good enough as I tend to like quite a full coverage, however I was pleasantly surprised! The coverage is pretty good and it feels like I have nothing on my face! Over time I have worked on my best ways to apply and now it forms part of my every day make up routine and I am loyal to the brand now. The finish is very natural and gives an almost "airbrushed" look. Very happy!

I got this little 4g tub in a Priceline goody bag in the shade medium a couple of years ago. Whilst it is a sample tub I have used this quite a few times and still have heaps left.

Mine came with a screw top lid. It has a sticker you peel off which uncovers the holes where you can jiggle the tub to get the powder out. It does not smell unpleasant or really much of anything at all.

It is a loose powder so if you don’t want too much to come out at once then instead of peeling the sticker off, poke some holes through the sticker. As with any loose powder it’s best to use this before changing into an outfit due to powder fall out on your clothes.

I tend to use this when I’m running late as it is quicker to apply and doesn’t leave my fingers covered in foundation.

I use my Kabuki brush to buff on in circular motions after applying my usual moisturiser. I have also applied with and without primer and have not seen much difference either way.

There is no shimmer. I love the natural look that this cover provides me. When I first apply this powder, it doesn’t look like much but then after a while it seems to “set” and looks much better. It doesn’t cake and is super easy to blend.

I have combination skin with some pimples and redness around my cheeks but this does an excellent job of covering and disguising it. This is a light coverage product so it will not look the same at 6pm as it did at 8am when you first applied it. But it fades without that unsightly “blotchiness” unlike some foundations and so easy and quick to freshen up. I just reapply in the same fashion as I did that morning.

I would not take this foundation away as it needs to be kept upright or the loose powder comes up through the holes and then you end up with way too much.

I would definitely re purchase this product when the time comes. Maybe in a lighter shade though.

This is currently my go to mineral foundation. I find that I use the light tone during winter and when im tanned I use the medium. I find the light-medium is very pink and leaves you looking a bit fake.. if that makes sense. I find the medium is more brown and a better reflection of tanned skin.
This gives me a really lovely natural look that doesn’t look caked on like liquid foundation can.
I find that I do have to use quite a generous amount to build up a nice coverage but in saying that, my skin is a quite red after I wash it so I do have to apply more to cover it up.
I do find that if you don’t apply a primer and/or moisturiser under the powder it can absorb into your skin quite quickly and make you appear as if you aren’t wearing any makeup in a short time.
