Five common make-up blunders…

Make-up isn’t always so easy to master. Often we find ourselves deep in a beauty dilemma and trying to fix it usually makes the problem worse. We’ve listed some of the most common beauty blunders and their quick-fix solutions – so you don’t have to start all over again

1) You’re left with mascara on your eye lid/under your eye.
We’ve all been there – whether you’ve sneezed or accidently swiped your wand somewhere other than your lashes. Don’t panic – wiping it off right away will smudge it. Let the mascara dry, then carefully wipe the problem area using a small concealer brush dipped in make up remover. This will prevent you from disturbing the rest of your make-up.
Product pick: Manicare Concealer Brush

2) You used too much perfume
Many of us tend to go a little overboard with out favourite fragrance. It can result in not only a headache for you but also everyone around you. Luckily, there’s a simple solution to make sure you’re left smelling sweet. Use a cleansing wipe to soften the scent on the skin.  Remember: all you need is one to two sprays.
Product pick: Nivea’s Daily Essentials Fragrance Free Cleansing Wipes

3) You smudged your nail polish
Fresh manicures and smudged nails often go hand in hand and nothing is more frustrating, especially if you’ve been to a nail salon. Avoid adding another coat on top – it will just make your nail darker than the rest and look messy. Gently press the smudge with your thumb and massage the polish back into place, then apply a thick, glossy topcoat.
Product pick: Revitanail Top Coat

4) You used too much blush
Blush can give your face a natural flush and leave you looking radiant, but too much can look too forced and fake. Remove that big pink streak by applying face setting powder over the top with a large powder brush. It will remove the excess and even out the colour.
Product pick: Alexami Cosmetics Mineral Setting Powder

5) Your ‘dewy’ skin looks greasy
The dewy, fresh-faced look may be on trend but there’s a fine line between dewy and oily. Apply some translucent powder to your temples, around your nose, under your eyes and along the jaw line. This will even you out without adding any more colour.
Product pick: Essence Fix and Matte Translucent Loose Powder
