Jennifer Lopez: 10 years of style and success

White. Just white. No colour. Not a single splash of it. If there is, there’ll be trouble. Oh, and no food in the dressing room, please. Just beverages. But no tomato, grape or apple juice, because they are banned.

That’s just some of the requests on Miss Jennifer Lopez’s concert demand list, beauties, and she expects her demands to be met on every single leg while on her Australian tour. Crazy, huh?

But if anyone has the right to act somewhat like a diva, it’s J.Lo. I mean, Jennifer Lopez is a pretty amazing woman. 10 years ago she had a #1 album (This Is Me… Then), a #1 movie (Maid in Manhattan), and a #1 fragrance (Glow by J.Lo) and today? Well, FORBES named her the #1 Most Powerful Celebrity in the World for 2012. That’s a hell of a long time to be at the top of one’s game, don’t you think? I say yes. And the best part is this: Jen just keeps getting better and better – better bod, better outfit, better boys, and better fragrances (read: Glowing by J.Lo).

So, what are we going to do to celebrate Ms Lopez’s decade of outrageously amazing success? We’re going to go into reminiscing mode so we can peer at how the triple threat’s style has evolved along the way. From chic hair ‘dos and radiating skin, to a multitude of plunging necklines, Jen definitely knows how to work the red carpet…

Can you believe it’s been 10 years since Jennifer Lopez released her first fragrance? In which year do you think she looked best? Are you surprised by her demands while on tour?

2003

Ahh, the Beniffer days. Weren’t they glorious? Actually, they were terrible. Gigli-esque terrible. So much so, I’m even finding myself irritated by those short patches of hair either side of her forehead…

2004

Luminous and wonderfully feminine here, my only complaint about this snap is J.Lo’s overuse of illuminator under her eyes and along the bridge of her nose. It’s a little bit of glow-overload.

2005

While it seems rather odd to see Ms Lopez sans her hair extensions, this chic bob looks phenomenal. It’s fresh and feminine, and makes her look more stylish and less ‘Jenny from the Block’.

2006

There’s not much to say about this except a matching elasticised glittery headscarf and puffy sleeved frock is never a good idea, no matter who the clotheshorse is. You hear me, J.Lo? Never.

2007

Goodness. How radiant does Jen look here? Pregnant with twins at the time, this one-shouldered frock and her soft flowing waves leave her looking utterly glorious.

2008

Back to her beautiful best post-pregnancy, Jen proves she’s most certainly still got the goods in this plunging number. Points for using gloss on the middle of her bottom lip and Cupid’s bow to make her pout look even fuller.

2009

Whoa, look at that ‘tude! J.Lo proves she’s not afraid of the young guns climbing up the charts – she’s still as fierce and fit as ever.

2010

Although she’s looking a tad on the skinny side, we love the juxtaposition between Jen’s prim and proper pink frock and her somewhat messily textured ‘do. It leaves her looking modern, as opposed to an uptight prom queen.

2011

OK, OK. We get it. You’ve got exceptionally toned abs, Jen. You sure you had twins? Love her luminous cheeks and just-the-right-amount-of-volume brushed-out waves, too.

2012

Wow. Just wow. The voluminous bun, the sexy yet feminine frock, and the eclectic two-toned winged eyeshadow – everything about this look is exceptional. Bravo, J.Lo. You are one classy woman.
