CREAM eyeshadow vs powder

I’m trying to find a good cream shadow specifically I wear contact lenses and powder shadows seem to flake into my eyes … much pain !!! I’ve used to use Rimmel metallics but they have discontinued them ..

Cream shadows are generally harder for me to blend, but easier to use with contacts.

I own some NYX jumbo pencils and I liken them to cream shadows. They apply velvety smooth, are very pigments and generally have great staying power as well. I like apply similar coloured shadow on top of my jumbo colours to give it that extra intensity and pop in colour.

For the office (subtle) wear, I just use to shadows and use a great blending brush (NARS #12) to diffuse the colours and make it subtle and natural.

Cream are usually more pigmented and I have one from sportsgirl which I hardly use because it’s too dramatic!
Eyeshadow powder are great to use subtley or build to make it more intense- overall I find them more verstile!

That’s the one gripe I have with estee lauder. You fall in love with a shade and it gets discontinued. Happens way too often with lauder products :/

My fav Estee shadow was deleted. I don’t know why it’s always you’re favourite shade that seems to go.

Prestige have a good range of cream eyeshadows that you apply with a wand. Maybelline have mousse eyeshadows. I think Max Factor and Almay also have a mousse/cream eyeshadow line.

Revlon have two very good ones, Beyond Natural which is a cream to powder quad eyeshadow & another quad, Creme Eyeshadow which is just that. Both are really lovely formulas with lots of staying power.

Clinique has a good cream eye shadow in a wand. You can wear it on its own but I like to blend a powder shadow with it. Then you can invent your own colours.
