Matte makeup look for Spring 2018
We already know the yellow eyeshadow is going to be HUGE this Spring. But how can you make the trend work in real life? The trick to wearing a bright, matte eye look is to keep the rest of your makeup nice and simple, so that the eyes are the main focus. And although a statement look like this might look difficult to pull off, it’s actually ridiculously easy!
So, if you want to know how to create an easy matte makeup look with yellow eyeshadow for Spring, watch the video above.

Complexion
First, I applied the Nude by Nature Airbrush Mineral Primer because I wanted to use a primer that would make my skin shine-free before I put on my foundation. For my matte base I used one of my favourite foundation, which is the Nude by Nature Flawless Liquid Foundation. Usually I would apply this foundation with a sponge but since I wanted a matte finish I opted for a kabuki brush. For concealer I used the Nude by Nature Liquid Mineral Concealer in the shades Light and Medium, and mixed them together to create the perfect shade. And I applied my concealer using the M.A.C 195 Concealer Brush.
I sculpted my cheeks with a light contour using the INIKA Organic Baked Contour Duo in Teak, and the Garbo & Kelly Defining Contour Brush. For blush I used the Napoleon Perdis Blush Engineer Palette in the shade Sussy ($49, priceline.com.au), and applied it with the The Real Techniques Blush Brush.
To set my base I used the M.A.C Prep + Prime Fix + in matte. Normally, I would use a powder to set a matte makeup look, but I find that this spray is really good for setting a matte complexion, without leaving you looking cakey. You just have to remember to shake the product really well before you use it.
Eyes
For my eyebrows I used my all-time favourite brow pencil, the M·A·C Eye Brows pencil in Lingering. To make sure my brows kept their shape all day, I brushed in the essence Make Me Brow gel.
For my bright, matte eye look, I used the Sportsgirl Eye Shade It eyeshadow Palette in Honey ($20, sportsgirl.com.au) and started with the shade Creamed Honey as a white, matte base to help bring out the pigment of the brighter shades. I then went in with the shade Hive & Honey which is a bright yellow, matte shade, and I applied it all over my eyelid. After I finished applying my eyeshadow, I used my M.A.C 195 Concealer Brush to clean up any fall out underneath my eyes. To set my under eye concealer, I used the Becca Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder ($42, sephora.com.au).
Since I have eyelash extensions, I skipped mascara on my top lashes but I applied a brown mascara to my bottom lashes using the Nude by Nature Allure Defining Mascara in Brown.
Lips
I wanted a nice, nude matte look for my lips, so I started by lining my lips with the essence Lip Liner in In The Nude. I then applied the Mellow Liquid Lip Paint in Ibiza ($21, mellowcosmetics.com.au).

Not sure how I feel about yellow eyeshadow. I would rather blend the yellow with other shades of shadow.

I think a dewy complexion is always the go. Natural, glowing looking skin I find very appealing!

I think yellow is a very interesting shade to use on your eyes! For those who don't want to look too garish, a nice firey gradient from red/orange to yellow would look stunning.

I actually did a yellow to green eye shadow about 15 years ago haha and I enjoyed it. Probably not for me now, I look too "sophiticated" (old) for that sort of stuff now.
