If you could wear makeup 24/7… would you?
Karen Walker, writer for the Daily Mail, has never in her nine years of marriage let her husband see her without make-up on. She sets her alarm an hour early every morning so that she can apply a full face before letting him see her.
Talk about commitment.
But now with the introduction of long-lasting make-up designed to regenerate the skin overnight, will women like Karen finally be able to hit the snooze button?
Yep, gone are the days when wearing make-up to bed was a deadly skin sin. Now products including a 25-hour foundation, three day mascara and ‘night time’ mineral powder are being introduced to the market to aid women who simply can’t live without make-up.
But is wearing make-up around the clock something that really needs to be encouraged? Don’t women already put enough pressure on themselves to look like the women in magazines?
Don’t get me wrong, I love make-up just as much as the next person, but I also quite enjoy taking it off and letting my skin breathe for a few hours. Not to mention the state my pillowslips would be in if I did start wearing it to bed…
I think these types of products are great for instances like long flights that turn into morning meetings or a day at the races that turns into a night on the town, but does anyone really want to be wearing make-up 24/7?
Are you excited about the idea of make-up you can wear around the clock? Or do you prefer to go natural every now and then?
