Nothing is more frustrating than applying a slick of your must-have mascara, only to have it make a mess of your perfectly-applied shadow – not to mention base if you’ve got spidery-long bottom lashes – in the blink of an eye.
But worry not, help is at hand. On a recent trip to the Benefit Brow Bar, one of the Benefit babes revealed that mascara, like any cream-based product, needs a powder to set it and keep it in place.
She advised applying two coats of your mascara, then stand up, tilt your head forward and apply a light dusting of black shadow – or brown, depending on your mascara colour of choice, of course, – on both ‘sides’ of the lashes. Top tip: be sure to tap off excess shadow beforehand, otherwise, you’ll end up with that over your cheeks too.
