Five easy ways to make your eyes pop
At beautyheaven, we understand that not everyone has the time to nail an elaborate eye make-up look every day. But this doesn’t mean you can’t master one or two simple tricks to make your eyes pop when the occasion calls for it. Whether you’ve landed a last-minute date or just want to look a wee bit prettier, these five tips will take your eyes from drab to fab in minutes.
1) Conceal and brighten
An under-eye highlighter is a must for a fresh eye look, instantly brightening up your whole eye area while helping to hide signs of fatigue such as fine lines and dark shadows. A small amount is all you’ll need for a brightening effect; we love Rimmel London’s Match Perfection Concealer and Highlighter which adapts to any skin tone, illuminating the skin.
2) White effect
While not all of us are blessed with big doe eyes, you can easily create the illusion of wider peepers using a touch of white eye shadow. Cream shadows such as Benefit’s Creaseless Cream Eyeshadow/Liner are easiest to work with – simply dab a small amount on the inner corners of your eyes using your finger for an instant enlarging effect.
3) Foolproof eyeliner
Perfect for girls who prefer a natural beauty look, brown eyeliner provides subtle definition without overpowering. It’s also easier to master than black eyeliner, making it a great beauty timesaver. For a simple-yet-pretty eye look, we recommend using a pencil such as Almay’s Intense i-Color Defining Liner in Brown along your upper and lower lash lines. 4) Added lashes
Haven’t got time to apply a full set of false lashes? You can get a similar result using just two or three falsies on the outer corners of your eyes. Revlon’s Beyond Natural Individual Lashes are lightweight and realistic looking, perfect for emphasising your natural lashes. Simply blend them with a few coats of mascara and you’re good to go.
5) Frame them fully
A well-groomed, expertly shaped pair of eyebrows will open up your eyes (not to mention frame your face perfectly). If yours are a bit sparse, consider a brow pencil to give the illusion of fullness. Mary Kay’s Brow Definer Pencil is perfect for giving your brows a bit more oomf and available in three different colours for a natural looking finish.
