3 best makeup looks from the 2014 People's Choice Awards
The first red carpet event of the year kicked off yesterday and Hollywood’s hottest wasted no time getting into the swing of things.
Here are my three favourite hair and make-up looks from the 2014 People’s Choice Awards:
Um, excuse me Adelaide Kane, but where the heck have you been hiding all this time? This Aussie beauty has cracked the American TV scene starring in Reign and, in my opinion, basically stole the show at the PCAs.
Her just-a-touch-darker-than-natural lips combined with a simple and subtle smoky eye is pure perfection. Bonus points for her silky porcelain skin and the hint of blush on her cheeks. Her loose, tousled bun is really just icing on the incredibly pretty cake.
Does anyone else feel like the Glee star is channeling her inner Jennifer Lopez with this is bouncy, wavy ‘do? The star showed off lighter, more caramel-y locks that complemented her bronzed and radiant skin perfectly.
I love that she chose a slightly shimmery pink lipstick to go with her caramel complexion, but what truly deserves massive props here is her eye look. Those thick lashes coupled with the copper colour below her bottom lash line gets an A+ in my books.
The Vampire Diaries star is yet to disappoint me with her red carpet looks. The touch of glittering lilac on the inner corner of her eyelid does wonders for her chocolate-brown peepers and gives her charcoal smoky eye a bit of a lift. She also proves that a subtle pink gloss should be in every woman’s make-up repertoire.
As for her hair, she really seems to make punk chic work. Her stylist, Riawna Capri created what she calls a ‘knothawk’, where she literally tied Nina’s hair in 100 knots that went from the back of her hair all the way to the top.
Honourable mention goes to…Sarah Michelle Gellar
I’ve had a soft spot for SMG since the days of my Buffy obsession, and I’ve gotta say, the woman looks just as good as she did 10+ years ago. Her platinum blonde locks work brilliantly with her pink lips and flushed cheeks. My only concern? The bags under her eyes are looking a teensy bit heavy. A lighter eye look may have suited her better.
Which of these looks is your favourite?
