It’s the most wonderful time of the year (again)! And between finalising our Christmas wishlists and nailing the perfect red lip, we’ve been busy curating a moodboard of our favourite Christmas movie beauty looks to recreate this festive season.

And yes, you might have seen them a million times, but humour us for a second. Beneath the cheesy, tinsel-covered exterior, some of these films are filled with seriously amazing holiday beauty moments.

Here, our picks of the best beauty looks from your favourite Christmas movies.

Zoey Deutch in Something From Tiffany’s

It’s 2022’s most anticipated Christmas movie (according to us, at least) so it just makes sense that the lead actress is serving some serious beauty looks. And this Y2K-inspired updo and crimson lip combo? Our new festive season staple.

Keira Knightley in Love Actually

Remember when we all rocked an updo with tendrils? Keira’s look is so reminiscent of the era but somehow it still works! Her soft-toned makeup ensures her natural beauty remains the focus.

Cameron Diaz in The Holiday

Okay, who DIDN’T take a photo of Cameron to the hairdresser for inspo when this came out? And her creamy blonde bob is just as on-trend today as it was back in ‘06. Her makeup was kept natural with simple neutral eyeshadow, petal-pink cheeks and nude lipstick.

Christine Baranski in How The Grinch Stole Christmas

Before overlining your lips became an everyday thing (we’re looking at you, Kylie Jenner), Christine was flying the flag in How The Grinch Stole Christmas. Her exaggerated red pout is the quickest way to amp up any holiday look.

Nina Dobrev in Love Hard

Simple, elegant, chic; Nina’s wavy half-up ‘do embodies everything we love about the festive season. And can we talk about that dewy glow?! We’re adding a liquid illuminator to our wishlist, stat.

Emilia Clarke in Last Christmas

We’re suckers for a curly bob moment (and Emilia Clarke). Add a touch of tinsel and a bold red lip and you’ve got the perfect Christmas day look – fairy light accessories optional.

The Vixens in Love Actually

Although the Vixens only make a brief appearance in this holiday season classic, there’s no denying their hair and makeup is absolutely on point. The glossy red lip is giving serious candy cane vibes…

Vanessa Hudgens in The Princess Switch

If ever there was a time to don pinned curls and a tiara, it’s the festive season. And whilst her hair is certainly a nod to the Royals, Vanessa’s smokey eye and perfectly-lined berry lips are giving us major Christmas party inspo.

Kristen Stewart in Happiest Season

Effortlessly chic and eternally on-trend, Kristen’s icy blonde hair is inspiring us to dip into the ‘80s revival trend. Our takeaway? The good old hair flip is a tried and true hack to a voluminous ‘do.

Sarah Jessica Parker in The Family Stone

If you needed proof that the ‘00s aesthetic never goes out of style, SJP’s butterfly haircut will do exactly that. We’re living for the neutral lip and no-makeup makeup look – perfect for those who prefer a minimalist approach to Christmas glam.

Queen Latifah in Last Holiday

Queen by name, beauty queen by nature. A subtle bronze eye with just a hint of smoked-out black works perfectly with a pretty berry lip. A great choice for the work Christmas party, too!

Reese Witherspoon in Four Holidays

Surprise everyone at family Christmas lunch by showing up with a freshly chopped fringe. A bold, blunt fringe might be a classic but switching it up with a choppy, sideswept version like Reese will keep things fresh.

Zooey Deschanel in Elf

Yep, that’s Zooey Deschanel! She’s famous for her signature brunette locks and blunt fringe, but Zooey was once a blonde. We think her flicked-out ‘do and strawberry pink lip are both super cute. And she’s definitely nailed the Santa hat styling.

Donna Reed in It’s a Wonderful Life

Well if this isn’t #braidgoals, I don’t know what is! Donna’s chunky braid is an easy way to update your festive ‘do while still giving off classic vintage beauty vibes. An oldie but definitely a goodie!

Carol Kane in Scrooged

Did somebody say highlighter? Stars, glitter and frosted eyeshadow gave Carol her look as The Ghost of Christmas Present. Go all out with body glitter like Carol or pare it back by adding a few sweeps of your favourite shimmery highlighter.

Penelope Cruz in Noel

If you can’t seem to step out of your smoky eye comfort zone, you’ll want to channel Penelope this holiday season. Defined brows, black kohl eyeliner and a smoky grey shadow on the lids keeps things sexy and a little bit undone. Dab a touch of gloss in the centre of the lips for Penelope’s sultry pout.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? Do you have a go-to holiday beauty look?

  1. Here are my favorite beauty looks ever: The Spice Girls as themselves in Spice World, Julia Roberts as Vivian in Pretty Woman, Uma Thurman as Mia in Pulp Fiction, Natalie Portman as Nina in Black Swan. I have lots of time lately and rewatch my faves, it so much fun! I mostly stream everything from IPTV on my firestick and was thinking a lot how legal is streaming and IPTV in particular? Found a great article about that https://www.firesticktricks.com/is-iptv-legal.html. What is your opinion about it? How do you guys stream those super old movies which are not on Netflix?

  2. There’s something so relaxing about sitting down and watching any movie during the festive season. It’s like the outside world is crazy busy and it’s just lovely to sit, relax and be entertained.
