9 celebrity-inspired makeup looks for winter

Does winter often make you feel uninspired? It sure does for me.

During the winter, many of us suffer from lack of energy, motivation, and inspiration in all different aspects of our lives. And while some days putting on makeup feels like a chore, one of the best ways to get me out of my funk is to experiment with different and creative makeup looks that make me look cute and feel even better.

So if you too are feeling the winter blues, here are 9 celebrity-inspired makeup looks to try out this winter!

Bushy Brows and Warm Lip

You can never go wrong with a strong brow! This season we’re all about a fluffy, brushy brow as your statement accessory. Pair your brows with a shiny warm lip, neutral (or even bare!) eyes and natural, rosy skin to re-create Lucy Hale’s winter-goddess look that we’re loving here.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Natio Brow KitGarbo & Kelly Brow Gel and jane iredale Triple Luxe Long Lasting Naturally Moist Lipstick in the shade Jessica.

Winged Liner and Thick Lashes

If you love experimenting with dramatic makeup looks, winter is the time to do it! Miley’s sharp winged liner with thick black lashes is a classic yet edgy look that you can rock for so many occasions and at any time of day. Complete this look with a light pink lip and a strong contour to serve up a beat so fierce it could cut through the winter cold.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Maybelline New York Hyperglossy Liquid Eyeliner, L’Oreal Paris Telescopic Mascara in Black, and Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

Blush Tones and Glossy Lip

Normally associated with summer, blush is actually one of the most complimentary makeup tones to wear in winter. With cooler air giving our skin a natural flush, a blush pink lid, like Jada Pinkett’s, is the perfect pop of colour to complement our more rosy complexion. Wear this with a glossy lip for a fresh, feminine look.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Lancome Absolutely Rose Palette and Raww Coconut Splash Lip Gloss.

Bronzed Skin and Nude Lip

Who says you can’t be tan all year round?! So many of us feel better with a bronzed glow and there’s no reason you have to ditch your self-tan in the colder months. If you love  that I-just-got-back-from-European-summer tan,  make sure your skin takes center stage! Try pairing your glow with neutral shadows, fluttery lashes, and a nude lip like Shay Mitchell.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Rimmel Natural Bronzer, Mac Satin Lipstick in Shimpton, and Ardell Faux Mink WISPIES.

Brown Smokey Eye

Try straying from the classic black smokey eye this winter and opt for something a bit softer. A brown/bronze smokey eye is the perfect nighttime eye look for the colder months. It warms up the face, makes any eye colour pop, and won’t leave you with accidental raccoon eyes! Finish off this look with a nude lip and fluffed up brows.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Nutrimetics Professional Nude Eyeshadow Palette, Benefit Angled Brow Brush & Spoolie and Revlon ColorStay Eyeliner in Brown.

Colourful Lids

Don’t be afraid of using colour in the winter! Adding an unexpected pop of colour to your makeup, like Ariel Winter’s purple lids, can give you that extra bit of oomph you need to make it through the dark, cold days of winter. For a daytime look, stick to using bright colours on either your eyeshadow or your lipstick, and keep the other one more neutral.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: ModelCo Eyeshadow  Trio and Karen Murrell Natural Lipstick in Princesses of the Golden Petals Crown Jewel.

Cool Toned Smokey Eye

Another smokey eye for those of us who love the look! If you’re after a more winter-inspired smokey eye, try wearing cool tones instead of warm, buttery ones. This cool-toned smokey eye and cool neutral lip on our gal Rosie Huntington-Whiteley transitions well from day to night and is ideal for those of us who prefer a softer makeup look.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Chi Chi Eye Palette Cool Vibes and Nude by Nature Creamy Matte in Blush Nude.

No-Makeup Makeup

The no-makeup makeup look is a timeless trend that works for every season. When achieving this look during winter, make sure your skin is exfoliated and well hydrated to give you that Gemma Chan glow. Lightly fill in your brows, dab on a little concealer on the areas you need some coverage, and add a sheer neutral lip or gloss.

To achieve this look, bh recommends: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant, Sukin Facial MoisturiserINIKA Organics Brow Define Palette, and COVERGIRL Smoothers Concealer.
