Drew Barrymore’s Latest Beauty Roundup Includes Scarlett Johansson and Gwyneth Paltrow-Approved Products

Drew Barrymore is a woman who loves a beauty roundup and recommendation. It was her advice that got us through Valentine’s Day, her genius tip that helped us avoid ‘maskne’ and her own beauty brand, Flower Beauty, that continues to be a staple on our drugstore makeup shopping list. And now, she’s back with another list of suggestions: a beauty regimen for summer.

Considering we’re on the other side of the world and the weather is cooling down, some of these suggestions may have to wait for the warmer months. But, for those of us who just love a glimpse into an A-lister’s beauty bag (regardless of its seasonal relevance), we recommend you keep reading.

Without further ado, here are our top picks from Drew Barrymore’s “Little Yellow Book Summer Beauty Edition”.

Makeup recommendations…

Concealer: RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up

This lightweight, silky, award-winning concealer melts into the skin upon application. Formulated with coconut and jojoba oil, it offers skin-like coverage that tones down dark circles and discolouration, leaving behind a radiant complexion.

$54, MECCA

Kosas Wet Lip Oil Plumping Gloss

As far as lip gloss goes, this one is pricey. However, it’s not hard to see why the high-shine formula has found a fan in Drew. It plumps, hydrates and will provide long-lasting shine without feeling heavy, sticky or taking your hair hostage after a gust of wind. As a more affordable alternative, we love the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil ($17.95, Adore Beauty).

$33, MECCA

ILIA C Beyond Triple Serum SPF 40

During the warmer months when you don’t require as much coverage, we suggest this 3-in-1 serum, SPF, and tinted moisturiser be worn alone. But for a wintery take, ILIA’s niacinamide and vitamin C-infused formula will sit beautifully underneath your foundation for an added brightening glow.

$101.19, Revolve

Skin care recommendations…

The Outset Gentle Micellar Antioxidant Cleanser

Drew’s preferred cleanser comes from Scarlett Johansson’s two-month-old clean skin care line, The Outset. Sadly, it isn’t available in Australia yet. We can, however, recommend a similar product: Alya Skin Foaming Micellar Cleanser ($16.99, Chemist Warehouse).

Check out The Outset’s full range, here.

Mario Badescu Hyaluronic Eye Cream

Say hello to this little pot of hydration. Replenish moisture, smooth lines, brighten darkness and plump out wrinkles with Mario Badescu’s whipped eye cream.

$27, MECCA

GOOPGLOW Exfoliating Jelly Cream Cleanser

Adding to the celeb-on-celeb action, Drew loves GOOP’s Exfoliating Jelly Cream Cleanser (AKA a product from the wellness brand founded by the famous Gwyneth Paltrow). There is, however, more to this product than just Gwyneth. With this multipurpose cleanser, dirt is thoroughly removed and dull skin is left looking fresh and radiant.

$50, MECCA

Have you tried any of Drew’s recommended products? If not, which would you like to try?

  1. I’ve had the Kosas Wet Oil Lip Gloss thingy tried on me whilst I did a makeup demo in Mecca & I didn’t mind it. That said if I want colour on my lips I’m more inclined to wear a lipstick, so I don’t think I’ll end up buying one of their glosses. It’s a good option though (although I can’t say it really plumped up my already full-ish lips, so take the plumping claims with a grain of salt).
