Tip: how to fake false lash perfection
Not exactly awesome at applying false lashes? Don’t worry, not many of us are – but that shouldn’t stop you from sporting the things. As long as you’ve managed to stick them on somewhere in the vicinity of your lash line (sorry, we can’t help you if they’re ending up near your brows) we’ve got a couple of sneaky tricks to make your false lashes look perfectly applied, even if they’re not!
FALSE LASH TIP #1: Start by applying your false lashes with a pair of tweezers – it’s a lot less clumsy than using your fingers and will also enable you to get the root of the false lashes closer to your natural lash line.
FALSE LASH TIP #2: Once applied, if you notice that your false lashes aren’t right up against your lash line (i.e. – there’s a space between them), don’t worry. Simply use a liquid eyeliner to line your eyes, which will instantly hide the gap (just be sure you use a LIQUID liner, as a pencil may pull your lashes off).
FALSE LASH TIP #3: So you’ve managed to disguise the gap between the root of your false lashes and the root of your natural lashes – but now how do you hide the fact that the two aren’t merging and you seemingly have two sets of lashes? Easy! Just take to your lashes with an eyelash curler and gently curl them from just above the root. This will push your natural lashes upwards, while simultaneously bringing your false lashes slightly downwards, merging the two for a fuller-looking flutter.
Still not sure you can master false lashes? Try Eylure Pre-Glued Lashes – they come in a variety of styles and are perfect for novices as they’re already pre-glued, which takes a lot of the fiddling out of the application process. Plus they can all be reused, so you can practice as many times as you want without wasting them!
