The ultimate brow-over
I’ll be honest, I’ve never actually thought my brows were that bad. I mean, sure, they’re slightly curly and a little on the bushy side – but hey, short of trimming them there’s nothing much to be done about that is there?
Actually, as a matter of fact there is. Which is exactly what I learned when I visited brow queen Sharon Lee in her very Alice in Wonderland-esque Sydney salon. To begin, Sharon treated me to a lash tint, before explaining that she was just going to ‘take most of the bulk out of my brows’. I was a little bit tense at this point to say the least, as my worst fear is thin, faux-looking brows!, Sharon began tweezed for a solid 10 minutes, her hand like a soft jackhammer – the fastest thing you’ve ever seen, but oh-so gentle.
When she finally asked me to sit up and examine her handiwork, I was sure I’d be bald-browed and sobbing into my supper that night. But lo and behold, when I looked in the mirror I discovered that I had somehow obtained lovely Camilla Belle-like brows. I rejoiced!
I was thrilled to see that my long, wiry hairs had been replaced with neat, shorter strands that sat perfectly in place and complemented my face brilliantly (I clearly hadn’t realised that I had so much bulk in there to begin with!). My brows were still thick, and a little like before, but much neater and more flattering. Looks like Sharon Lee is my ‘browdol’ (get it beauties? Brow-idol) after all!
Side note: brows are one of the features on your face that can complement your whole look or, in the case of over-plucked or bad and bushy brows, ruin it completely. That’s why it pays to go to a professional who can ensure your brows look the best they possibly can.
