beautyheaven: Run us through your daily make-up routine: how long do you spend getting ready in the morning? What step do you never, ever miss?

Samantha Harris: My makeup routine depends on where I’m going and how long it will take.
I always make sure my skin is cleansed and moisturised before I start. My first step is Bobbi Brown foundation, next, I always conceal under my eyes with Bobbi Brown concealer and then I then apply a neutral brown eyeshadow on my lids. I then curl my lashes, apply my mascara, put on a bit of bronzer and I’m good to go.

bh: What about your daily skin care routine?

SH: I cleanse and moisturise every day and night. At the moment I’m using Ultraceuticals Ultra Milk Cleanser and Ultraceuticals Ultra Moisturiser Cream, and I find they really help to keep my skin clear and radiant.

bh: How do you treat your hair after a long day/week of shoots and styling?

SH: When I am shooting, I always make sure to use heat protection spray before I leave the house; my favourite one is Aveda Brilliant Damage Control. I also make sure to use a nourishing hair treatment once a week. My current favourite is Kerastase Paris Masque Nutri-Thermique.

bh: What’s the secret to your amazing brows?

SH: One of my really good friends, Jazz Pampling, is a brow artist – I give her all the credit for my brows. She leaves the top line completely natural, while defining the bottom line, which I think gives it that not-too-defined finish. I also like to brush up my brows to give the arch line more definition. Also, a quick trick Jazz has shown me is to spray a bit of hairspray on a clean mascara wand to help keep my brows in place.

bh: What are your go-to beauty products?

Right now, I love Dermalogica AGE Smart Multivitamin Power Recovery Masque because it helps keep my skin, especially any redness, in check. I also love my L’Occitane Shea Butter Hand Cream.

bh: What is the biggest beauty sin you’ve ever committed?

SH: When I was younger I didn’t use sunscreen that often. Now I realise how harsh and damaging the Australian sun is, so I never leave the house without putting it on.

bh: If you had one bit of beauty advice to give to women, what would it be?

SH: Always remember to remove all of your makeup at the end of the day. It’s such a quick and simple thing to do and your skin will love you for it.

Think the Girlfriend Rimmel Model Search could be the start of something fabulous? The Sydney roadshow is taking place this weekend (June 28) at Westfield Parramatta and the Melbourne one will be held on July 5 at Westfield Southland.
