How to use lash adhesive eyeliner

Not many occasions in the past few months have called for false lashes, unless you really went all out for Zoom trivia nights.

But now that small gatherings are permitted and the Christmas spirit is alive and well, it’d be rude not to pull out our favourite eye-enhancing friends.

Whether you’re a fan of single lashes or all-in-one strip designs, there’s plenty of advice out there on how to apply false lashes in the easiest way possible.

However, the world of lash-tech is forever evolving and we’ve recently become privy to a pretty impressive game-changer: lash adhesive eyeliner.

So if you’ve always found your traditional lash glue a little tricky to get right, here’s the lowdown on this user-friendly liner.

What is eyelash adhesive eyeliner?

Lash adhesive eyeliner is a 2-in-1 product that combines the look of a liquid eyeliner, with the functionality of a lash adhesive. Most kinds, like the Eylure Line & Lash, are designed as a felt-tip pen for easy application and control. For this product in particular, you can also choose between Black (for a more defined eye look) or Clear (for a natural look).

How does eyelash adhesive eyeliner work?

The product works by laying down a smooth and precise line of adhesive (and pigment, if you’re using black), which becomes tacky after a few seconds. Any kind of faux lash can then be placed atop the smudge-proof line, where it will stay put just like glue (but for those of us who are usually lash challenged, with less mess and sticky fingers).

How to apply eyelash adhesive eyeliner

If it’s your first time using a lash adhesive liner, we’ve got a few pointers to help you get the best results. But if you’re someone who can nail a winged liner in their sleep, you’ll have no problem getting the hang of it.

1. Apply the lash adhesive liner in one smooth stroke, so the adhesive is evenly distributed. You may find this easier with the eye you’re applying it to closed, or looking down in the mirror.

2. Aim to keep your application as close to the lash line as possible, so that the false lashes can be placed correctly.

3. Wait a few seconds until the lash adhesive liner becomes tacky, and then apply your falsies by placing them atop the liner.

4. Any pair of false lashes can be paired with the adhesive liner, just make sure you’ve trimmed them to size first if using strip ones. bh loves: Eylure Luxe Faux Mink Baroque for a natural doe-eyed finish with a silky soft mink effect.

  1. I own a magnetic eyeliner for use with magnetic lashes, but I’ve hardly been leaving the house with COVID, so I haven’t tried it yet. I usually wear bold winged liner, so I would use this if I was wearing false lashes.

  2. The first and only time I wore fake eyelashes was at my sister’s wedding 2 years ago and they kept touching my glasses which annoyed me a little bit that I don’t think I’d wear them again.
