‘Squiggle brows’ have taken over Instagram

Once again beauty bloggers have brought us the latest Instagram makeup trend: squiggly eyebrows.

This craze shouldn’t come as a surprise after the other trends that emerged this year. After all, we have had ear highlighting, featherandbarbed wire eyebrows all do the rounds.

While I can’t see myself rocking these brows on a Saturday night, I am curious as to how people create them.

One of the first vloggers to try out the trend was Promise Tamang. To achieve the look, she used PVA glue to flatten her brows in one direction and then concealer to hide parts of her brow. (You have to give these vloggers props for creativity.)

There have been mixed reactions about the look. Since posting the photo, Promise Tamang has spoken about them with the HuffPost.

“I am always experimenting and trying different makeup looks on my social pages,” she explained.  Promise also said that the negative comments don’t bother her. The squiggle brows were just something new and fun for her to share with her followers.

Hot on the heels of the ‘squiggle brows’, beauty vlogger Lexington, posted a photoshopped picture of her ‘wavy lips’ as a joke. It may have turned out to be more of a trend than she anticipated, with many recreating the look.

As you may have expected, plenty of spoof versions have appeared online.
