How to achieve the perfect brows
It’s pretty amazing how eyebrows can change your face. Done right, they can take your look to an entirely new level (just take one look at the queen of eyebrows, Camilla Belle).
So, to make sure you’re getting your eyebrows right, we got Australia's celebrity eyebrow expert Sharon-Lee Clarke to answer a few questions on how to keep your brows in tip-top shape.
What should you NEVER do when it comes to your brows?
Hands down – over-tweeze. The most common issue new clients arrive with is having over-tweezed (either themselves or therapist) and the re-growth not returning. Never think that your brows will always grow back as the hair just doesn’t sometimes.
What are your top tips for rectifying over-plucked brows?
Grow them out and invest in a quality brow filler to fill the gaps during this often-frustrating stage. I have developed a brow gel that is a favourite with my clients and is available in four yellow-based shades. The gels are a water resistant cream-to-powder formulation and double as both a brow filler and eyeline smudger. Talika is also a great product for aiding re-growth, although it is important to be used on scrupulously clean skin.
Is there a specific brow shape that generally suits different face shapes?
No, brows are incredibly personalised. So much is factored in to what shape suits you, like the colouring of your skin, setting of your eyes, strength of your features, age, sex, eyesight, how well you can maintain at home, make-up, and of course, how much hair you have to work with.
Are there any particular brow trends at the moment?
Thicker, bolder and polished brows are in at the moment.
