Brow products every woman needs
ESSENTIAL BROW PRODUCT #1 Tweezers
A good quality pair of tweezers is essential for creating gorgeous brows and you can really tell the difference between a $5 pair of tweezers and a $50 pair. Look in the makeup bags of makeup artists, brow stylists and beauty experts and you are sure to find a pair of Tweezerman tweezers – they don’t have cult status for no reason. These babies will remove even the tiniest of hairs with pain-free ease.

ESSENTIAL BROW PRODUCT #2 Spoolie
A simple (clean) spoolie (aka mascara wand) or just a clean baby toothbrush is perfect for brushing up your brows so you can see which hairs you need to remove with tweezers and how you should fill in and perfect your brow shape with makeup. Brush your brows up to see their shape and make them appear thicker.
ESSENTIAL BROW PRODUCT #3 Brow Pencil
If you’ve had a bad waxing experience (haven’t we all?) or you’ve just gone a little crazy with your tweezers then use a brow pencil to fill in any gaps. While a powder is great, it doesn’t have a waxy enough texture to ‘fake your shape’ and stay put. Brush your brows up and perfect your shape with a brow pencil that is the same (or slightly darker) than your hair colour and make sure to use small feathering motions instead of one thick line.
ESSENTIAL BROW PRODUCT #4 Brow Powder
It probably seems a little silly to include a brow pencil and a brow powder but it is best to use a brow pencil to perfect your shape and a brow powder to fill your brows in to make them look neat and tidy (as well as thicker.) Brush your brows up with a spoolie and use an angled brow brush with a matte eyeshadow or brow powder that is the same shade or one shade lighter than your hair colour (if you’re a blonde use a shade that is slightly darker than your hair colour).
ESSENTIAL BROW PRODUCT #5 Brow Gel
When you’ve put a bit of effort into your brows you want them to look great all day so make sure you set them in place with a brow gel. Tinted brow gels can sometimes be a little messy so stick with a clear version. Make sure you choose one that doesn’t look crispy or use a light hold hair spray on a spoolie.
beautyheaven sidenote: according to Veet beauty expert and local brow stylist to the stars, Amy Erbacher, strong, structured brows are what you’ll want to be sporting this year. Her top celeb picks for brows are Jennifer Connelly, Bambi Northwood and Cara Delevingne.
