7 strange beauty trends you have to see

The internet supplies us with endless entertainment, from hilarious memes to red carpet disasters and the ever so popular pimple popping videos (gross!).

But best of all, it brings us wacky beauty trends and blogger challenges from around the world. And it seems the stranger they are, the more viral they go:

Magnetic false eyelashes

Still struggling with false eyelashes? If you want to take your look to the next level but dread the stickiness of glue, magnetic eyelashes have come to the rescue. A company called One Two Lash reveals the first false eyelashes sets that use magnets instead of glue. The magnetic lashes promise to be long-wearing and more reusable than your regular falsies.

Nothing but highlighter challenge

Strobing was taken to a whole new level when YouTuber MARIYA.AE applied a full face of make-up, using only highlighters. The end result? A cross between a majestic unicorn and female tin man. Obvs other beauty bloggers were a little jel of all the shimmer and soon began recreating their own all-over-highlighter looks.

Clown contouring

Contouring overkill or genius sculpting? The jury was out when YouTuber belladelune showed us her ‘clown contouring’ technique designed to colour correct, contour and highlight her face. But the results were pretty impressive, so many jumped on the bandwagon. However, we think the copious amount of blending took its toll on the wrists, as it seems to have died down since.

Colourful underarms

Next time you forget to shave your underarms, why not dye them pink? Or purple? Or green? The colourful underarm trend took off long before Miley Cyrus made it cool… The purpose of all the rainbow pits was in an effort to protest against society’s expectations of clean-shaven women and it sure did grab people’s attention.

Glitter beards

Nobody can resist a manly beard, let alone one covered in glittery goodness. Kudos to all the participants, it’s nice to see men try daring new looks, plus we can only imagine what the clean-up would’ve been like!

Nose twerking

If your hips are as stiff as falling asleep in a clay mask, you’ll be pleased to know even you can do this type of twerking. The current trend simply requires your precise eyeliner skills to draw a music-clip-worthy booty on your nose and move it up and down with your finger. Just make sure to choose a track you can really bump ‘n grind to.

Candle cutting

When Alessandra Ambrosio posted a video of her hair being singed with an open flame we were like, “Wait, what?!”. The Victoria’s Secret Angel has the most enviable locks in the modelling industry and when it was discovered this was how she rid her mane of split ends, EVERYBODY just had to try it. Of course like most things involving an open flame, this trend should not be tried at home.

Have you seen any wacky beauty trends lately? Or perhaps tried any of the above?
