A Complete List Of The Celebrity Makeup Artists You Need To Be Following On Instagram

Behind every celebrity’s perfectly lined lip and softly blended contour is an expert makeup artist responsible for their stunning glam. Though celebs attract millions of Instagram followers who scroll their grids looking for inspiration, it’s actually the professionals behind these looks that are the ones giving away the golden tips and tricks.

Whether it’s Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s makeup artist revealing a weird but genius blush hack or the drugstore products that A-listers swear by, it’s time for a much needed run through on the who’s who of celebrity makeup artists.

Mario Dedivanovic

We doubt this is an unfamiliar name. As the makeup artist to Kim Kardashian and Salma Hayek, Mario is the man to follow if you like a natural contour and soft glam. While his Instagram feed was once covered in pictures of his celebrity clients, it now heavily features products from his own makeup line Makeup By Mario, which is sold exclusively at Sephora.

Hung Vanngo

Between Ellen Pompeo, Diane Kruger and Julianne Moore, we’re surprised that Hung even has time to run a social media account. However, he’s a consistent source of dewy skin and bold eyes. For makeup inspo that will push you outside of your comfort zone, Hung is worth following.

Kate Lee

Not only will Kate Lee post candid behind-the-scenes shots of Anne Hathaway, Kate Winslet, Charlize Theron and Rose Byrne, she’ll even give you a complete list of all the products she used in the caption. Like that lipstick on Rose? It’s the Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Bloom in shade ‘126 Season’.

Pati Dubroff

From one dreamy, dewy Chanel makeup look to the next, Patti is the makeup artist behind the famous faces of Margot Robbie, Kristen Stewart and Priyanka Chopra. Keep an eye out for her Instagram stories where she shares behind-the-scenes peeks into her favourite products, go-to shades and makeup tips.

Emily Cheng

There is no other makeup artist who can do a luminous, soft glam quite like Emily Chen. Luckily for us, Emily regularly shares how-to videos to her Instagram to help us master a winged liner or achieve a no-makeup makeup look in  four easy steps.

Nam Vo

If the name Nam Vo sounds familiar, it’s because she’s the inventor of the viral hashtag #DewyDumplings. When she’s not doing Rosie Huntington-Whitley’s makeup, Nam is sharing tips to her Instagram on how to stop your concealer from creasing or how to dermaplane your face from home.

Max May

Known as one of the most popular MUAs in Australia, Max May’s Instagram has over 3,000 images to fuel your obsession with golden, glowy beauty looks.

Mary Greenwell

Unlike the makeup artists that shot to mega-stardom overnight thanks to social media, Mary has been doing the makeup of celebrities like Kate Winslet for almost two decades. When she’s not sharing a sneak peek into Cate Blanchett’s latest look, Mary is getting in front of the camera and giving her followers a run through of her most recent beauty recommendations.

Nikki DeRoest

Not only is she one of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley’s closest pals, but Nikki’s Instagram is a one-stop-shop for any makeup tips, inspo and product reviews. Hosting regular segments like “cheek of the week”, you might lose hours scrolling Nikki’s feed, but you’ll resurface as an amateur makeup artist.

  1. I laughed so hard when I read this line: “We doubt this is an unfamiliar name” [Mario Dedivanovic]. I am not a Kardashian fan. I will however have a squizz at these insta account though.

  2. I don’t go to IG for “inspo” for anything. After this tech and apps got more and more “advanced” , everything looks so fake! Remember all those old magz, people used to say how altered photos are, nothing like these social media picks.
