What’s in my makeup bag: Erin Holland

Erin Holland is passionate about sun care. Not just because she’s concerned wrinkles, but because she knows firsthand how dangerous sun damage can be. After having five dangerous moles removed from her face, back and neck, the TV host and former Miss World Australia knows the importance of including daily sunscreen application in her beauty routine. Which is why she is a perfect fit as Neutrogena’s latest sun care ambassador.

We asked Erin to spill the contents of her makeup bag, and let us in on her daily beauty routine.

What are the 5 beauty products that you can’t live without?

What beauty products do you always carry with you in your handbag?

Hydro Boost® Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF50 for all day sun protection and hydration. I always carry a mini fragrance with me – at the moment I’m using Mon Paris Couture, Tarte Creaseless Concealer for daily touch-ups throughout the day and the Endota Spa Lip and Cheek Stain because it’s 2-in-1 and multi-purpose.

Describe your everyday makeup routine?

I wake up and cleanse with Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying Micellar Water, then apply my Hydro Boost® Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF50 because it has hyaluronic acid to hydrate my skin and SPF 50 that protects it throughout the day, plus it acts as a makeup primer for skin which is a bonus. I usually apply a very light foundation, Tarte Creaseless Concealer from Sephora for problem areas, my Becca Highlight along my cheekbones then a few lashings of Benefit Mascara. A quick Benefit Gimme Brow touch up before I go and to finish, I apply Endota Spa Lip and Cheek Stain.

Does your beauty routine change when you’re really busy?

Not very often, I try not to change my skincare routine at all. Skin is the largest organ on the body so I try to ensure my skincare routine is always consistent. In fact, the busier I get the more conscious I am to take care of my skin daily, particularly when flying or travelling as I get very dehydrated.

Do you have any time-saving makeup hacks?

Hydro Boost® Water Gel Lotion Sunscreen SPF50 is my favourite time-saving makeup hack actually. It’s a 3-in-1 as it hydrates with hyaluronic acid, primes my skin as it layers under makeup beautifully and protects with SPF 50. Multi-purpose products are also always great – something that doubles as bronzer, eyes, lip and cheek stains are perfect for this. Less products that do more mean a quicker application and faster get ready time.

How do you take care of your skin to keep it looking so flawless?

The older I get the more I realise how incredibly important taking care of your skin is. Makeup never looks or feels as fresh if your skin is lacklustre so the best beauty tip I can give is to ensure your skin is nourished and protected at all times.

What’s the best beauty treatment that you’ve ever tried?

I love the endota spa Intense New Age Facial. They do hydro-microdermabrasion so it infuses the skin with moisture whilst doing the microdermabrasion. It stimulates collagen, clears dry skin to promote cell renewal and hydrates at the same time while light therapy reduces inflammation and heals the skin. I love how plump and even my skin tone is after this facial!

What’s your favourite way to style your hair on an average morning?

Beach waves with the ghd Curve Classic Wave everyday. I run it through sections of my hair for a really nice tousled beach wave.

What did you think of Erin Holland’s beauty routine? Have you tried any of these products?
