BlogStar entry: Love Those Lashes review

Competition: beautyheaven’s BlogStar promotion

My review of Love Those Lashes takes you through 3 months of the trial- not just some initial “yeah-it’s-great!” vague review. I explain all the nitty gritty aftermaths of the procedure.

Procedure:
Silicon gel pads placed under my eyes to protect my lower lashes
Acrylic (or silk) lashes individual grafted to lashes
Process takes about 45 minutes.

Aftercare instructions:
Don’t get them wet for 24hours
Comb lashes after showering (After the 24hrs). I used a tester mascara brush I got from a makeup counter.
No alcohol-based makeup remover on eyes
No Mascara

After 1st Visit:
I was (at the time) happy with the results. Unfortunately, I could see a few specks of glue at my lash line which kind of ruined the aesthetics. After the first 24 hours, you adjust to the extra weight and the foreign feeling of having additional lashes.
I went overseas the next day and was sleeping on my left side due to an annoying light in my room. Ten days later, my left eye had lost heaps of lashes…more noticeably than my right.
Please note: I did not lose my own lashes (as I have read in many reviews.)

After 2nd Visit:
I pushed my refill appointment a week ahead (refills are scheduled in 3 week intervals.) This was an emergency! I changed beautician and wow…she’s was really good. No visible glue, the look felt cleaner and more integrated with my lashes.
I was REALLY happy with the results now. I made sure I always had her for my refills.
Sidenote: Shower before the appointment, unless you want to wear goggles in the shower

After 3rd Visit:
I would recommend planning ahead if you have a specific event in mind. I have thin lashes and it definitely took my 3rd visit, (due to losing too many lashes overseas), to get complete, natural thick coverage.

After 5th Visit:
Thick, long natural looking lashes continue…I’m addicted!
I relaxed during the process and nodded off for a few minutes. (You know how you twitch when you suddenly wake up?…yeah, I tried to pretend I was stretching my wrists. I don’t think it fooled her.)

Below is what I call “The Fine Print” to recognize
 [Some are just plain picky]
Expensive
Natural lash lifespan = 4 to 6 weeks. Lash extensions lifespan= 3 weeks before a refill is necessary
Can’t sleep on my side or rub my eyes
Inability to wear sunglasses comfortably. Lashes get all mushed up
Sometimes the inner lashes get uncomfortable and poke me
Uncomfortable when drying your face – a little poke-y
After 2 weeks, some lashes look slightly odd when they’ve grown out as the tip of the lash isn’t flush against your lash line anymore
When they grow it (or maybe it’s the way I sleep), lashes sometimes get reversed, and curl down/sideways. It’s quite difficult to twist them back to the correct position
It’s really addictive…
