Just a tip for those of you who don’t want to end up in the rather unattractive position I found myself in earlier today…
If you’re getting out there and sporting a bold pout, it’s best to keep the colour on hand for regular touch-ups. Why? Well, the shade sure looks rich and luscious when freshly applied (as will your pout), but have a few sips of your drink, a bite to eat, or even blow your nose and – uh-oh – all you’ll be left with are lips lined (rather unattractively) with remnants of your colour. And if you’re really lucky, the shade may even have ‘bled’ into your lips, accentuating all the cracks.
Well, that’s what happened to me anyway, and it was a rather rude awakening when I later spied myself in the mirror and saw that my once rocking pout was, well, awful. Here is a photographic recreation of what occured. Might I just add that the ‘after’ was way worse in real life than in this picture.
So, as I said, either carry your colour for touch-ups on the go, or invest in a long-wear lip colour such as Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Lipstick, or COVERGIRL Outlast All Day Lipcolour.
