Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara

This mascara is iconic for so many reasons. First of all, it’s one of the most affordable mascaras we’ve ever encountered. Second, it volumises lashes to the point that it looks like false lashes post-application, and lastly, it never flakes or leaves you with panda eyes.

Lancôme Monsieur Big Mascara

We’re always a little more critical of high end mascaras, because we believe they need to have features that justify their price tag. Monsieur Big is one of the few mascaras that we always come back to. It creates intense volume and offers a deeply pigmented finish that perfectly accompanies an evening makeup look like no other.

Key features:

  • 24 hour wear
  • Enhances natural lash volume by 12 times

L’Oréal Paris Telescopic Mascara

from $14.49 at Priceline

An oldie but a goodie, L’Oréal’s Telescopic formula has been beloved and reimagined many times over the years, but the original has remained a steadfast makeup classic for a reason. It provides extreme, exaggerated, clump-free length that enhances the impact of natural lashes by up to 60 per cent.

  • Combs and separates each lash
  • Clump-free finish
  • Extreme length and a fuller lash look

Clinique High Impact Mascara

Want the kind of mascara that gets you compliments but doesn’t look like you’re wearing any makeup? This subtle eyelash enhancing formula has a ‘your lashes but better’ finish and is insanely adept at transforming your eye makeup without much effort at all.

Key features:

  • Lush and plush lashes
  • ‘Your lashes but better’ finish
  • Deep opaque colour payoff

What mascara gives you the longest lashes?

Mascara formulas that contain lash lengthening fibres and polymers are a great place to start, they usually also wash off easily with some warm water and a gentle cleanser. If you prefer mascara that promises a longer wear time, then tubing mascaras are a great option as they help to create a tube around the lash which can be thickened and lengthened with each application of each coat.

  1. Never found a mascara my eyes tolerate. I seem to have extremely sensitive eyes. I wish they came in smaller, cheaper sizes to try before actually purchasing full sized product.

  2. I bought this Essence Lash Princess False Lash Effect Mascara awhile ago and only started using it yesterday and I am a bit disappointed because it is dry and doesnt apply very well. I guess I left it to get old. Will have to buy another.

  3. This is an excellent list. Sky High in Brown is a favourite of mine but I lost it recently. Just ordered the Telescopic! I used Princess for the first time recently and wow the lift is incredible but it smudges easily for me. Still getting used to it.

  4. At present I’m using Max Factor False Lash Effect which doesn’t smudge; Covergirl Lash Plumping Mascara; and Clinique Lash Power. I have another three unopened mascaras to use.
