So if you’re ready for some new season makeup inspo, fresh from Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia 2018, here’s our roundup of the hottest makeup looks.

Parisienne Glow at Camilla and Marc

It was all about glowing skin, glossy lids and plum pouts at Camilla and Marc. Lancôme’s Lara Srokowski told BEAUTYDIRECTORY that they added their Glow Drops to Teint Idole Ultra Liquid 24h Longwear Foundation for a more luminous, natural texture. That perfect plum lip was thanks to Lancôme L’Absolu Rouge in Berry Noir.

Mustard, terracotta and tobacco at Bianca Spender

Carol Mackie created stunning mustard, terracotta and tobacco stained eyes for M.A.C at the Bianca Spender show. “We’ve used M.A.C Lipmix in different tones such as nude and mid-nude, yellow and red,” she told BEAUTYDIRECTORY. Using the same products, Carol gave models a matte lip in a different tone. “If its a mustard eye, we will do a terracotta lip,” she said.

Lit from within at Karla Spectic

Models were lit from within at Karla Spectic with inspiration coming from stained glass windows. Makeup Artist for Smith & Cult, Mikele Simone, kept the look modern by steering clear of overly dewy skin and giving the girls a hint of glow in the inner corner of their eyes. “The colour palette is coral and we’ve used the same colour on the eyes and on the cheeks with the Smith & Cult Book of Sun Chapter 1 palette,” he told BEAUTYDIRECTORY.

Tough liner at Alice McCall

Nicole Thompson gave models the ultimate black liner for M.A.C at the Alice McCall show. Using the M.A.C Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack, she kept the line super straight before going over it with M.A.C Liquid Eyeliner in Boot Black. “This is liner with balls!” she told BEAUTYDIRECTORY.

Synth-punk-beach at Double Rainbouu

At Double Rainbouu, Gillian Campbell created three makeup looks for Dermalogica. The first was a reflective chrome look. The second was a DIY messy punk-eyeliner look, meant to look like the models did it themselves. And the third incorporated pops of colour taken straight from the collection. Skin was prepped with the Dermalogica Resurfacing Cleanser.

Glamified beach vibes at JETS

“It’s just very glamorous, pool-side, Versace,” explained Glamazon’s Madison Meyer for JETS. To get the look Madison used lots of oils and cream-based products to avoid a matte finish. “We wanted a super deep bronze with a shimmer on the eye and hyper-glowy skin,” she told BEAUTYDIRECTORY.

Monochromatic flush at C/MEO COLLECTIVE

Another stunning look by Lancôme’s Lara Srokowski for C/MEO COLLECTIVE, who created a monochromatic effect using the same lipstick on cheeks, lips and eyes. Lara told BEAUTYDIRECTORY that the lipstick was L’Absolu Rouge Lipstick – 335 Moderato, and it was applied onto pared back skin to allow the monochromatic flush to come through.

Butterflies at Romance Was Born

We knew Romance Was Born would be good, and they didn’t disappoint! Artistic Director Peter Baird designed a stunning eye concept called ‘butterfly’ for the show. Sephora’s Alphie Sadsad gave each girl a unique look with blues, yellows, pinks and coloured mascara. Plus, diamontes of course! Skin was left glowy with the Sephora Glow Foundation used as a base.

Feelin fresh at St.George NEXTGEN

The focus at St.George NEXTGEN was a really fresh base, with the models embracing their own skin and brows to keep the look natural. Anna Papadopoulos created the look for Napoleon Perdis using coppers, oranges and smoky tones on the eyes. “My three colours of choice are the Napoleon Perdis Colour Discs in Green Living, Tequila Sunrise and Amazon Jungle,” she told BEAUTYDIRECTORY.

Bleached brows at I.AM.GIA

Are your brows feeling a bit bland? Bleach them. Colette Miller for ModelCo bleached a few of the models brows at I.AM.GIA for a truly unique and very cool look. The models skin was prepped with ModelCo Replenishing Rose Mist Facial Mist.

Brooke brows at Client Liaison Deluxe Line Resort

Nicole Thompson nailed the 80’s brief for M.A.C at Client Liaison Deluxe Line Resort by giving each girl the famous ‘Brooke’ [Shields] brow. “We’re starting it by creating a wide, feathery shape around the brow and filling them in with our new Brow Pens that are super sheer,” she told BEAUTYDIRECTORY.

Into the blue at Christopher Esber

“We’re inspired by the Mediterranean, so keeping the skin fresh and raw, and we’re going for more of an androgynous look,” Mecca Cosmetica’s Janelle Erika told BEAUTYDIRECTORY. Models at Christopher Esber had the Mecca Cosmetica Enlightened Lit From Within Illuminating Balm applied to the high points of their face for a super luminous complexion. To finish the look, some models were given a pop of blue on their eyelids.

Embellished at Camilla

At the final show of MBFWA 2018, Camilla rolled out this incredible makeup look by Linda Jefferys for Shiseido. “We really wanted the girls to look like Japanese warrior women because that’s what I was inspired by when I looked at Camilla’s clothes,” Linda told BEAUTYDIRECTORY. Glitter and sparkles were used to create a unique warrior mask for each model. To prepare the girls skin for their masks, Linda used the Shiseido Pureness Refreshing Cleansing Water and the Essential Energy Moisturising Gel Cream.
