These Are The Best Drugstore Lipsticks In Australia

by

Remember the days when medicine, Band-aids, and insect repellent were the only things you bought at the pharmacy?

What was once a chore has quickly become a highlight of our week, and it’s all thanks to the endless aisles of beauty products and skin care. And in amongst the perfume, serums, nail polish and affordable foundations sits perhaps the greatest pick-me-up of all: a new lippy.

For those of you who don’t want to lose an hour kneeling in cramped aisles, swatching endless colours onto your wrist, we’ve rounded up our top six pharmacy formulas that deliver on colour, durability, and nourishment.

Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lip Color

The Maybelline New York Color Sensational Lipstick is a Glosscar winner and has over 200 4.5 star reviews. This innovative lipstick combines vitamin E, honey and crystal-pure undiluted pigments for long-lasting, superior colour. The shade ‘Crazy For Coffee’ has been described as the “perfect nude” and the “your lips but better” shade for darker complexions.

Nude by Nature Moisture Shine Lipstick

The Moisture Shine Lipstick by Nude by Nature combines active ingredients with Australian native antioxidants for a lightweight and comfortable wear with a long-lasting gloss finish.

“I love lipstick that is a little sheer, and this lipstick has the benefit of having a satiny sheen to it as well. Unlike other semi-sheer lipsticks I’ve tried that don’t last more than 30 minutes or look patchy on the lip line, I’m overall impressed with this product!” – laneofjane

Revlon Super Lustrous™ Lipstick with LiquidSilk

With an ingredient list that reads more like a serum than a lipstick, Revlon’s Super Lustrous Lipstick with LiquidSilk has been formulated with vitamin A, C and E to offer moisture and protection as well as a long-lasting bold pop of colour.

“Gives a good amount of color. The colors stand out. There are several shades to choose from. I tried the smoky rose and blushing nude. It left my lips feeling moisturized and smooth. It contains vitamins a,c and e to protect lips.” – christinac

Kate Moss Lasting Finish Matte Lipstick

Kate Moss teamed up with Rimmel London to develop the perfect matte lip, and boy did they achieve it, in not one but four cool tones. The creamy formulation includes precious ruby powder for a deep rich matte colour.  Though we can’t guarantee you’ll look exactly like the supermodel upon application, we think you’ll get significantly closer.

“Just perfect for anyone starting makeup or even anyone whose on the lookout for a cheap, lovely red lippie on a night out. Absolutely adore, and still have a few in my collection.” – Love bug

  1. I only buy drugstore lipsticks lol! These days they’re all just dupes of the luxe brands, made by the same companies! Really interested in the Burt’s Bees lipsticks as so many contain toxic chemicals 💄👄💋❤

  2. Myself Personally I often shop at Priceline or Chemist Warehouse, especially during Sales Times for Lipsticks 💄 really like Rimmel London and L’Oreal Paris Lipsticks such lovely Colours.

  3. I dont wear a lot of lipstick but when i do i always look for natural colours like daily wear for work etc. i find Kate lipstick comes in strong colours that aren’t daily wear. I love loreal & revlon lipsticks
