We say: Thanks to the large, curved fibre brush, this curling mascara from essence promises dramatic length with minimal effort.
You say: “I love this mascara! It gives a lot of volume and makes your lashes look thick. And it’s SO affordable! I love trying new mascaras, but often go back to this one, just because it’s cheap and I know it works.” – Michie 2

Yves Saint Laurent Mascara Volume Effet Faux Cils The Curler
We say: As far as mascara wands go, this one is up there with the most impressive. Not just because it is pink, but also because it is carefully rounded to help shape the perfect curl, plus it comes with an elastomer comb to lift, separate and define each individual eyelash.
M·A·C Extended Play Lash
We say: Consider this mascara like a temporary perm for your lashes. M·A·C’s lightweight formula will provide upward-ending definition, while the slimline applicator is designed to target every hard-to-reach lash, for up to 16 hours of wear.
You say: “ It’s long-wearing, it doesn’t smudge or flake, it doesn’t irritate my sensitive eyes, the petite slimline applicator makes it easy to coat every lash, and it’s easy to remove with warm water! “ – rosep
Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara
We say: For curved, fanned-out lashes, Maybelline New York’s Sensational Mascara uses two different sized bristles to reach tiny lashes and create a bold, curved, clump-free curve.
You say: “The wand is perfect for what it’s supposed to do. Lengthens volumises and makes the lashes so fluttery and pretty. It separates the lashes very well. It curls the lashes as you apply with the curly wand.” – Lovebug

I haven't tried any of these. Very excited to try new products.
My lashes are very sparse so mascara is essential for me. I love how awesome essence products are.
Maybelline and Lancome have great mascaras
The wand on the Maybelline New York Lash Sensational Mascara looks scary.
I really love the MAC Extended Play Lash.
I have not tried any of these but need to because I have very straight lashes
I loved the brush on the Maybelline Lash Sensation, but I found the formula wet: it often transferred to my eyelids.
The BEST curling mascara I've ever used was Benefit Roller Lash, but it's pricey. I had Ulta3 Volume & Curl on my list to try, but I notice that it's no longer Bh-listed. Perhaps it's been discontinued? I'll put the essence one on my try list for when I use up my current mascara stash.
I usually buy regular mascara , I am happy to give them more volume.
I need curling mascaras and ones that give length/volume. Oh, everything really =/
I've tried the Maybelline and it's pretty good..
That YSL mascara, very pretty and classy looking
I would agree on all of them
Some great mascaras!
I haven’t tried any of these but would like to try the maybelline lash sensational. I still have a few mascaras in my stash to use before I can go and buy any
I have dead straight hair everywhere. Yes I've tried curling mascara but no luck. So I use my manual eyelash curler then apply mascara to keep them that way.
Haven't used a Curling Mascara in quite some time. Will definitely consider buying one to try so many great brands.
I hardly have any lashes so mascara is my hope to look better.
I like the Maybelline Lash Sensational and I also like Essence mascaras so I'll try the curling one.
I bought a new MAC Extended Play Lash mascara today. I’ve repurchased this one several times and will continue to do so.
i do have have flat, straight and weird lashes – if you saw them you'd know what I mean.
I might try one of these, my eyelashes need all the help they can get.
There are so many good and so many bad mascara's out there. Some of my absolute favourites are no longer made.
Out of experiences with brands, Maybelline outshines them all regarding price vs experience.
Good to know. I need this.
Maybelline have some amazing mascaras at great prices.
I'm interested in the Essence mascara because this brand is so affordable.
I used the Lash Sensational years ago. I thought I recognised the brush so I went back to check the review and apparently I loved it! I haven't repurchased it simply because I haven't needed to buy a new one since – too many GWP and goodie bags!
I don't wear mascara daily, only when I go out. I do have the maybelline sensational mascara and I do like it. I curl my lashes before applying it though.
I have straight lashes but I hate the feeling of using one of those curling clampy things to curl them the best mascara I’ve found so far is Benefit Roller Lash.
My fave is DB CENTRE STAGE CURL & VOLUME MASCARA. Love it and keep buying it .
Hmm a few to try that I haven't yet!
Haven't tried a curling mascara before. Used to have an eyelash curler but it didn'dt do much for my lashes.
I need one!
My lashes are far to short to see any curling effects from mascaras 🙁
Oooh, I'll have to keep my eye out for the Essence mascara, I haven't seen that one before. I feel like my eyelashes are shorter than ever.
Great to see both high end and budget mascaras. Cause really I need to get back to saving for the house deposit.
I trust my eyelash curler to curl my lashes and I always pick the most voluminising mascara. For some reason they're only marketed to do one or the other.
I hardly have much lashes so mascara is a God send to me.
Heated eyelash curler (use a lighter or hairdryer) and your favourite, probably waterproof mascara = curled lashes all day.
Would love to see BH do more regular posts about plastic free and zero waste beauty please.
I have to use mascara otherwise my lashes are non existent.
Would love to try the essence brand,
I have the loaded lash mascara from raww and it works really well I highly recommended it for anyone
I've just moved to the Mirenesse organic tubing mascara. Where has this been for all my life?
I have 2 of them somewhere I just need to find them!
I haven’t tried any of these either! For me I go for staying power and still gentle on lashes ..for that my fave is Estée Lauder double wear mascara
YES! THE YSL MASCARA IS AMAZING!
I've heard YSL is amazing. I use Maybelline and always get a great result
the review on the essence mascara makes me want to try it
I gotta give the essence one ago, seems really good!
Love jlo and these mascaras
