Top tips for getting ready quickly

If I had five cents for every time I overslept, was too lazy to get out of bed, or had exactly 3.5 seconds between work and dinner to get ready, I’d be a pretttttty wealthy woman. Like Rihanna-spending-stupid-amounts-of-money-on-beauty wealthy.

But sadly no one’s dishing out that kinda cash and I still have that teeny problem of having to get ready in, like, zero time. Thankfully, over the years I’ve picked up a few get-ready-quickly techniques, and because I have a sneaking suspicion I’m not the only one who runs into this problem on an almost-daily basis, here’s how you can cut down your ‘getting ready’ time and look fabulous in a flash:

Your make-up

When you’re pressed for time, your goal is usually more about creating healthy, natural-looking skin and less about winged liner and smoky eyes. Start with a BB cream, like Ultraderm All In One Balm SPF 15. This will give your skin a hit of moisture and leave you with an even complexion. Follow with a couple of coats of a lash-enhancing mascara, and then finish off with a cream blush for your cheeks. A pigmented colour, like Bobbi Brown Pot Rouge for Lips and Cheeks in Rose, can be applied lightly to cheeks for a soft flush, and layered on lips to add some punch.

Your hair

Topknots don’t always look as chic as you want them to, so if you’re in need of a fast hairstyle that requires little-to-no effort, try usingLady Jayne Bun Styl’r to create a gorgeously voluminous bun, or Scunci Perfect Pony Toolfor a perky ponytail.

Oh, and on the note of hair – if you find you’re caught in a constant battle of “I need to treat my hair” and “Ahhhhh I don’t have any time”, try the muk Deep muk 1 Minute Ultra Soft Treatment. You can rinse it out after a mere 60 seconds and still see results!

Your tan

There’s absolutely no shame in wanting to give your skin the kind of golden glow that makes everything (outfit, mood, life) better. But you don’t have to spend too many precious minutes bronzing up. UseSt. Tropez Self Tan Luxe Dry Oil on your entire body to a) take care of your daily moisturising and b) add a hint of colour to your skin. Too easy.
