Personally I’ve always been team Aniston over team Jolie, but I’m not one to deny that the 38-year-old actress is drop dead gorgeous. Plus a woman that can rock a tuxedo better than her husband definitely deserves some recognition. But what really drew my attention to Ange on the BAFTA red carpet was her make-up. It’s possibly the most perfect example of natural beauty and a look every girl and woman should know how to re-create.
Step #1- A hydrating foundation
For a woman who’s almost 40, Angelina is showing no signs of it in her skin. Her base is flawless and sits seamlessly, without it caking or settling in to any creases. A hydrating and dewy foundation is best for ageing skin, as it won’t cause dryness, which can encourage the appearance of wrinkles. Try: Mary Kay® TimeWise® Luminous-Wear™ Foundation.
Step #2- A subtle smoky eye
A smoky eye doesn’t have to mean black. By using different shades of greys, browns or beiges, you can achieve the same flattering effect without the harshness of such a dark colour. To re-create Ange’s look, apply a dark grey to the outer corners of the top lid, working your way inwards with a lighter grey and then finishing at the inner corner with a light beige. This colour transition will help make the eyes appear bigger. Finish off by smudging a dark bronze colour along the lower lash line, starting at the outer corner and finishing about halfway. Try: mineral fusion Eye Shadow Trio in ‘Sultry’.
Step #3- Lashes
Yes I know fake lashes in a natural look, are not exactly natural. But do you really think Ange achieved that thickness using a magical mascara? Her lashes are thicker and longer at the outer corners, which can be achieved by applying individual lashes. Try: Ardell Duralash Starter Kit.
Step #4- The perfect nude lip colour
Nude lip colours tend to scare most people and I don’t blame them. Especially if they’ve seen pictures of Pamela Anderson from the ‘90s – not pretty. But if you can find the perfect shade, you won’t know how you ever lived without it. Nudes that have a pink or peach undertone will give you lips a more natural colour and draw attention to your eyes. Try: Colour by TBN Moisturising Lipstick in ‘Our First Kiss’.
Do you like Angelina’s BAFTA make-up? Are you a fan of natural-looking make-up? Or would you rather something with a bit more colour?
