Foundation stick gives me breakouts!

Hi girls, i recently purchased 2 Bobbi Brown foundation sticks – a light colour for over the face, and a darker colour for contouring.

I really really like the coverage and the easy application, but every time after i uses them i get breakouts on my face.

I always make sure i remove all the make up and cleanse my face thoroughly everyday. Even uses a Clarisonic cleansing brush.

Is the product unsuitable for me? Or is there any tricks or tips to use foundation sticks that i don’t know about? I would really hate to throw the foundation sticks away since there are still almost new.

How are you using the stick? If you are applying directly to your face then you may want to switch to using a brush to avoid contamination. Also the ingredients to make the solid formula like talc or oil may not suit your skin type. Do you get the same reaction to liquid foundations?

I find that I get really small pimples that look almost like a rash from every product containing Aloe Vera. It’s amazing what people are allergic too, and sometimes it’s really hard to track down the ingredient that does it. Copy the ingredient list, then if you get the reaction from any other product – compare the lists. If it is an allergic reaction, once you know the culprit ingredient, life gets so much easier (even if you do have to practically ruin your eyesight reading every ingredient list for every product!)

Hi Langod, my mom is allergic to Aloe Vera too. I will have to check the ingredient list. I can`t seem to find the ingredient lists from Bobbi Brown website. I will have to check with the sales consultant.

Where did you get them from? MECCA has an amazing refund/exhange policy if you purchased from them. I think if a product breaks you out then it’s really irritating your skin and it would be best to stop using it completely.

I remember when I first got into makeup, I’d use the Nars Laguna Bronzer religiously even if it broke me out. After doing some research, I later discovered that I was ALLERGIC to the ingredient ‘bismuth oxychloride’. I went through all my makeup to check and funnily enough the products that caused breakouts or irritation (which I ignored) all contained the ingredient – from eyebrow pencils to powders and eyeshadows.

Hi makeupcatxo, I got my foundation sticks from David Jones Bobbi Brown counter.
I am not too sure if it is an allergic reaction because the pimples don`t grow all over the face. But i haven`t look into the ingrediants yet. Good point, will go take a look.
