Made from smooth, soft velvet, Lady Jayne Smoothies is a hair elastic designed to provide a strong yet gentle hold. Available in Black and Brown, it aims to secure tresses in place whilst minimising damage to the hair.

Triallers said the Smoothies were a welcome alternative to regular hair elastics. Many said they were able to wear both a high and low ponytail without experiencing any drooping throughout the day. Several members also commented on the pleasant feel of the velvet material. Some found the Smoothies a bit difficult to remove, however they also noted they tended to loosen slightly with repeated use, which made removing them easier. They also appreciated the brown and black colour choices.

“Lady Jane Smoothies are thick, velvety hair ties that feel very luxurious to use. They keep my hair tied back well, don't budge throughout the day and I've noticed less hair breakage when using them. I can't comment yet on the longevity of the Smoothies hair ties, but Lady Jane are known for their quality.”

“After a few days of using the same hair tie, it got better as it became looser. My high ponytail stayed up with three wraps. The same hair tie still did a great low ponytail with two wraps. When it came time to take them out, my hair didn’t get ripped out or snagged which is great.”

“I was in need of new hair elastics after thinking about how some are too loose despite doing two loops, and yet cannot stretch enough to do a third loop. With the Lady Jayne Smoothies, you won't ever have the problem listed above. They have the most superior hold. They’re great for all hair types, and high ponytails that stay high.”

“The only thing I can fault about these hair ties is that I find it difficult to remove them from my hair. Not because they get tangled in my hair, but because they do such a great job at holding your hair in place, it can be tough to slide them off. I've also noticed that when I use the Smoothies less hair gets caught in the hair tie after I've removed it from my hair, which I love!”

“I was super sceptical receiving this product because I have used a lot of other ‘snag free’ hair elastic products only to have my hair pulled out when I removed them. But wow. This product actually worked for my long, fine, super dense curly hair. The velvety material felt really nice and helped glide the band along the hair without causing pain/obvious breakage. The hold was really strong without having to twist the elastic around and around.”

“As a girl with thick, long hair, I think these hair ties are great as they keep a firm hold on your hair for the entire day, unlike other elastics which slowly loosen their grip and cause your ponytail to droop. In addition, these velvet hair ties don't cause you any pain when you remove them as your hair doesn't get caught on the hair tie, which is definitely a plus.”
